Treatment in South Korea

I was recommended a doctor here by my doctor in Japan and I’ve been really happy with my experience for nearly 5 years now. The hospital is quick and efficient. The International Health Center is also very helpful when making appointments or when you have extra questions. I miss Saturday clinic hours but they have been flexible with scheduling overall. I commute from Incheon for this place, so I do recommend it strongly.

Great experience as an international traveller. Doctors speak English and tests were done in a swift manner. My travel insurance company worked quickly to make payment so I wasn’t out of pocket.

Went here for a visa medical check-up. The office for this check up was easy to find, but for an international department, there was lots of missing translations on forms, kiosks, in messages, you get on your phone or pre-exam questionnaires you need to fill in. The Google translation has not always made sense. Thankfully, the staff spoke English, and they were very patient, taking time to explain and show where to go. As someone, who went there to get my medical for DS-260, it did take about 2 hours like the US Visa Scheduling page said it probably would (sorting all the documents, interview with the doctor, blood test, x-ray, additional vaccination) and it cost us $335. So, if you are looking to get a medical check-up done for your visa, expect price above $280. If this is your first time at this hospital, you will need to use kiosks and bar codes you will get from the staff to register for the different procedures. It was quite confusing at first.

I’ve been treated like a princess. I went to the international clinic, to emergency and to the Otorhinolaryngology service these past few days and I can tell everyone is really professional, caring and human. They all know how to take care of patients and even if I don’t want to go back (obviously), it was the best hospital I have ever been. Brought my kid here for a check-up and seen the day after with an English speaking pediatrician. Everything is ok. The doctor is very kind. The staff were also helpful. The only problem is the ultrasound appointment takes 4 months to wait. Otherwise, everything is perfect.

I have not seen such a level of service in Russia! All our family was examined, it took about 40 minutes! During this time, we examined everything that includes the standard package! After the examination we were taken to the dining room at the clinic and we were fed for free! After 3 working days, the results were ready! The doctor with the help of a translator explained everything to us, told, and showed! Great! Expensive! But it’s worth it!

I had a consultation at the neurosurgery department of the Spine Center at Samsung Seoul Hospital. While waiting for my appointment… I had three bone growths on my neck. Six years ago, two of them were removed at another clinic, but over time, new pain appeared in my neck.

With a referral from a second-level clinic, I had an initial consultation and MRI at the Samsung Spine Center’s neurosurgery department. After that, I had a follow-up visit. This morning, I came back for another appointment.

I received conclusions about the condition of my cervical vertebrae, as well as a recommendation for an additional MRI of my head and lower back due to the exacerbation of pain and possible problems with my lumbar spine.

Fortunately, the professor who conducted the appointment examined me very carefully, thoroughly studied the problem, and gave clear recommendations. I am sincerely grateful to the professor.

It seems that I will have to be monitored at this center for some time, because I don’t want to be sick, but due to problems with my cervical and lumbar vertebrae, as well as severe headaches, I hope that after the examinations, it will become at least a little easier.

All services were provided on time, each stage of work was thought out, several times it was discussed, I received instructions, which were easy and simple to follow in a country with a foreign language. The translator met me on time, and she led me to the doctor, who confirmed the diagnosis of Moscow professors. I would like to receive advice from the doctor regarding alternative treatment methods, but the verdict is unequivocal – the need for surgery, which is proposed by Moscow doctors.

There were many people, we had to wait, but it was worth it. Professor Kim, Seok Jin, thank you very much for helping in the treatment of my mother.

The level of the Samsung clinic’s services in South Korea is very high! The medical staff is impressive! I have not seen yet such an attention to all the little details.

Hospital Samsung in Seoul is super! The best medical center in Korea! I have been observed here by neurosurgeons and neuropathologists for 11 years and they always treat me friendly and kindly.

By a happy chance, I fell into the hands of experienced doctors of the South Korean Samsung Medical Center. I was already preparing for an operation in Moscow. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, my predictions were 50 to 50. Our doctors are always afraid to take on extra responsibility for the operation. If something goes wrong in the end, they will say that this is not those 50 percent. Suddenly it turned out that my father had agreed without me that they would put me on an operation at the Samsung Center in South Korea. At first I thought he was joking – well, what kind of treatment can be in a clinic with a name like a TV. But dad insisted that I go there at least for a consultation. It turned out that this is one of the largest medical centers in South Korea with a worldwide reputation. I was examined by doctors from Korea and the United States. They made an impression on me that I could completely trust my life to them, although I didn’t always respond well to the doctors. Needless to say about the state-of-the-art equipment there! In medicine, Korea justifies its leadership in the field of world technology too. I think I had a brilliant operation. For those doctors, this is their usual job. After the anesthesia, I did not feel any pain. Postoperative observations showed that the tumor was completely removed. In six months, I will go there again for a medical examination. I am absolutely sure that I won this terrible disease with the help of Korean doctors!

I was hospitalized and underwent surgery at Gil Medical Center at Gachon University. I am very satisfied with the service—even the ward was comfortable, and the food was delicious and fresh! The medical staff was attentive.

I happened to be in Incheon, where I underwent an examination and surgery. During the preliminary examination, most of the medical staff were friendly and polite. Registration and payment were quick and organized, which made the process easier and reduced stress. In the main building, I encountered a strike by some employees, and although the situation is difficult for everyone, I understood their feelings and difficulties. Unlike other university hospitals, this one is very warm and friendly.

I am updating my review the day after the operation. The nurses at this hospital are very friendly, but most of them are newcomers and young professionals. In the oncology department on the 7th floor, where I was staying, I did not meet any experienced nurses with many years of experience.

Four nurses were unable to insert the IV right away — in the end, I had to have six injections, which left marks on my arms. Replacing the needle after the operation was also difficult, as they searched for a vein for quite a long time.

Patients like me really need experienced nurses with extensive practical experience.

It was difficult and painful for me while they were looking for a suitable vein, tying my arm with a rubber band, and then another nurse came 30 minutes later. Everything was not very coordinated, which was disappointing.

I just had my first surgery (eye surgery) last month. You know when you feel anxious because it’s your first time, but after my consultation with Dr. Cho, I felt at ease. After speaking with him, I gained trust because of his knowledge and experience in eye surgery.

My procedures included upper blepharoplasty, epicanthoplasty, and correction of Ptosis. As well as undereye fat reposition. I wasn’t expecting the result to be this good after one month. With my eyelids now firm and clear, I no longer have hooded eyes, and my eyes look very fresh and wide open. In addition, my undereye is no longer sunken because the fat has been repositioned. My experience with View was positive. The building itself is very beautiful and modern, and the English-speaking staff is caring and hospitable. I am a foreigner and do not speak the language, I was a little doubt whether it was worth going to South Korea for the procedure, but the consultants made me feel free and I did not feel any pressure when deciding whether or not to have an operation. Тhis hospital does not accommodate breastfeeding for newborns. No rooming in allowed. There’s only a one-person nursing room for the entire labor and delivery ward, so each mom is allowed one 30 min breastfeeding slot per day. Nurses and doctors are great but hospital policy is not.

i’ve been a patient here for three years (for allergic asthma) and they’ve been consistently good. long wait times for your first appointment or for examinations (4+ weeks for busy departments) and more expensive than other clinics but that’s to be expected from university hospitals in south korea. nurses are polite. facilities are good. doctors seem knowledgeable.

One of the best hospitals in Korea regarding the medication and treatment methods on leukemia, cancer, and organ transplantation. Some of the clerks are quite uninformed and unkind, yet, doctors are great.

A large general hospital, nice environment, clean. Unlike my previous orthopedic outpatient experience, I was very pleased with my appointment with the ophthalmologist.

I had a great experience with VG plastic surgery. From the moment I contacted the coordinator, to the consultation, to the surgery by Dr. Im Young Min, to my personal English speaking staff at the clinic ( Smile, Lilit, and Jenny) everyone made me feel special and like family. My personal experience:
All the staff, nurses and doctor was very kind. The English translation was through and clear about setting up expectations post surgery. Additionally there was no promotion for other surgeries and they promised what they could do to the best of their abilities. Dr.Choi was very gentle and skilled! Very professional experience overall.

The procedure:
Painless and simple. I had very minimal swelling and almost no bruising after surgery. It looks really great even after just 3 days! They also gave me post surgery care like a healing shot and red light therapy which was really nice! Remember to ice a lot and take your medicine on time!

Overall as a foreigner I recommend VG. Many Korean people were there, it’s like a hidden gem!

The staff is nice. But the doctor I saw – Dr. Nam – did not give me the impression of an intelligent or helpful specialist at all. He was just a young, argumentative person with very poor communication skills.

I had 3 surgeries at the VG clinic. Rhinoplasty, facial contouring and blepharoplasty. The doctors are very good! You can choose the changes you would like to make to your appearance. I will do the following operations in this clinic. They also have a very good translator. Everything was clearly explained. The hospital staff is friendly. With a smile, they meet all patients from which country you would not come from.

On December 28, I had a nose/costal cartilage osteotomy. After a week, the cast was removed and I returned to my daily life!

The swelling hasn’t subsided yet, but I’m very happy with the changes.

I had rhinoplasty done at VG, and the entire process was very seamless. The staff at the hospital were extraordinarily helpful, and i always felt very well taken care of. The english translator really went out of her way to help me during the entire surgery process, which was amazing.

I am also so so so happy with the results of my rhinoplasty. I was worried before that there would not be a big difference, but the doctor listened very well to my concerns, and the results were more beautiful than i had even hoped for.

I had my breasts done three weeks ago. Very natural and beautiful. Increased by 2 sizes. The doctor explained everything about the implants and the form. The healing went quickly. Now there are still restrictions (not to lift heavy things, etc.). The outcome of the surgery is very, very, very good. Thank you doctors and team.

The best clinic in Seoul.

I met a counselor on February 28th, and two doctors, one for my ruptured implant correction and the other one for the face and neck wrinkles lifting and putting in some area with botox and fat from took a bit from my stomach area. On March 14th, actual operation day, they asked me to sign the sort of releasing their lawful responsibilities and option for extra cost, which I didn’t mark it. On the day, I noticed the facial plastic surgeon Dr. who originally consulted me changed. The new one looked young behind the mask, I asked him how old he was, and he said in 40th. When they moved me into the operation room, I was surprised how the room and the equipment looked old. And I started a little nervous. In the front desk and the ladies were pretty look and professional, and the counselor lady the same as well. But, the actual operation room was different, and the doctor was changed the last minute without noticed me. Could I trust them? Perhaps I should walk out right then with the doubt. But, it was the hospital size and the location I through it. I’m pretty satisfied with the breast doctor. He seems professionally really cared for his patient and watched the result, and I’m satisfying so far. But, my face seems to have an uneven eye lid and chin as swelling down. Since the operation day, 2 weeks have passed. It can be healing time, but the swelling goes down, the problems starting to show. Another, actually, the most important problem is that my vision is shaking on objects that I never had the problem. It can be dangerous and make me so nervous to walk down or up the stairs. I asked them, and the counselor lady explained to me because healing time, and it’ll be okay. I’m going back to the US on the 5th of April, about a week left. My last check-up will be on the 4th. I’m very satisfied with the breast surgeon, but too bad the facial plastic surgeon who seems too busy for his patient, although there seem some problems to his patient. I just wanted the wrinkles off but kept my natural look. I asked them before surgery clearly. It’s still healing time, but I’m quite nervous as the swelling goes down and for my vision. Hopefully, I can write thankfully later positively and have good results with this matter.

After the surgery, I did not feel severe pain in the abdomen, and I felt that I could get the body that I had always dreamed of. My friends who did liposuction told me that they felt very sick after the surgery. I didn’t have that. Despite the fact that the volume of the operation was quite large, the postoperative period passed almost without pain, thanks to the excellent care and caring staff, the conditions of stay. There are Excellent conditions in the clinic, service. I really liked the attitude of honey. staff and consultants. Very attentive, friendly. The only wish is not to use Metazol for anesthesia, as there were hallucinations. The last time I was injected with propofol, I did not feel anything.

The only issue was that the information about filling out the K-ETA form to enter South Korea was communicated a little late. This form takes time to be approved (sometimes more than a week), and it happens that the first time it can be rejected and the second time it can be approved. Fortunately, we got everything done in time and the trip went smoothly.

I recently visited ID hospital for treatment, and overall, I was satisfied with the exceptional service. The medical staff was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that I understood my treatment options and felt comfortable throughout the process.

A special thanks to Ms. Grace and Mr. Jake, the English interpreters, who were incredibly helpful. Their patience, fluency, and kindness made communication easy, and they went above and beyond to assist me, making my experience much smoother.

However, my experience in the ward could have been better. I was in a shared room, which was fine, but the nurse on night duty was not very caring. I felt that more attention and compassion could have been given to patients, especially when assistance was needed.

Despite this, the hospital provides excellent treatments. I appreciate the overall care and support I received. With some improvements in patient care in the ward, this place would be perfect.

I couldn’t look at myself properly in the mirror. These protruding ears just destroyed me. Since childhood, I had a complex and tried to cover them with hair, but alas, they still stuck out. Now I am 30 years old and I finally got rid of this horror. Plastic surgery solved all my problems with appearance. I don’t understand why I didn’t do this before. Probably afraid. I had otoplasty at the Korean clinic ID Hospital. The anesthesia was local. I heard how they “make” my ears, but there was no pain. It took about 30 or 40 minutes for each ear. To be honest, there were unpleasant sensations and discomfort in the operated area for about five days after the surgery. Then it got easier. I was in the hospital for only a day. Then I rested at the hotel and went for bandaging. I combined my vacation with plastic surgery, so I have no regrets. I wore a special cap-bandage for 2 weeks. The stitches were removed on the ninth day. I was able to sleep on my side only after a month and a half. I thought I would see the results right away, but it was not there. When I first saw my ears after the surgery, I thought that this was not quite what I wanted. But the doctor immediately reassured me and said that the final results would be visible in 3-5 months. And so it happened. Now I am quite satisfied with the surgery. The seams are not visible and the ears are neat.

All my life I dreamed of blepharoplasty in Korea. And this year I made my dream come true! I visited Seoul and changed the shape of my eyes like my favorite actress! I am the happiest person. ID Hospital made my dream come true.

It’s just a very big clinic. The service is at a very high level, this also applies to medical services and just some organizational issues. I was very pleased with the results of the operation, which I had here already 3 months ago. I was very impressed with the doctor’s approach to the patient, a separate plus for additional recommendations.

I often had complexes because of the large size of my breasts, and I also had severe back pain due to the bulkiness of the bust. I went to the ID clinic in Seoul for a breast reduction. The procedure was done in a few hours, and I really felt how the heaviness was leaving my shoulders! The hospital staff was very hospitable and professional, everyone tried to help me. The postoperative period was a little painful, I visited the doctor regularly. Now everything is healed and I am very pleased with the result. I can finally wear the dresses I like.

I really liked the attitude of doctors and ID Hospital staff. Everyone is very polite and friendly. They put me in a good room and often asked if I was satisfied with everything. So highly recommend this clinic for liposuction!

The scale is impressive and the equipment is really excellent.
But perhaps it could be called “poverty amidst abundance”… everything seemed a bit cramped, and the consultations with the coordinator and doctor seemed short.
The cost of the surgery is reasonable in my opinion.
