Neuroblastoma treatment abroad

Our son was examined in Russia for several months, but no one could say what happened to the child. Having finally lost hope, we went to the Israeli San Juan de Deu, where our son was examined and diagnosed in 2 days. Of course, it was difficult to find out that my son had neuroblastoma. Therefore, a month later we returned home after the treatment, alive and healthy, it was a real miracle.

When neuroblastoma was found in us, it was clear that we had nothing to do in Ukrainian clinics. Immediately they began to look for options for foreign hospitals where children’s oncology is treated well. We stopped at several hospitals, of which we have already chosen Sant Joan de Deu, where the best oncology department for small children is. I want to especially note the careful attitude towards children. Both doctors and nurses know how to find an approach to them, so all procedures are carried out without fear and tears.

When my daughter Mariana was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, our Israeli relatives organized a trip for treatment. Chemotherapy was scheduled and the prognosis was not the best. But after 2 courses, there was an improvement, it became possible to take the bone marrow for autotransplantation. After 4 courses, the neuroblastoma was removed during the operation, which had shrunk to a tiny size. After two more courses, I made a bone marrow autotransplantation.

My name is Yana. I’m the mother of Valeria’s daughter, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of 2.5. At the time of the examination, there was already stage 4: a large tumor in the retroperitoneal space was actively metastasizing, which filled the lungs, lymph nodes, and bone marrow.

For treatment, we chose the Israeli clinic Hadassah Ein Karen. They confirmed the diagnosis and started a course of chemotherapy according to the SIOPEN-NF-NBAL-1.5 protocol with quick preparation.

After 8 courses of chemotherapy, the tumor decreased by 2 times according to MRI data. The bone marrow was cleared of cancer cells. Although there were no hematopoietic cells in the punctures before the start of treatment, all of them were 100% neuroblastoma cells.

The tumor is still inoperable, so we are waiting for 2 more cycles of chemotherapy. But the most important thing for us is that my child got a chance to survive, fully recover and return to a normal life.

My daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of one and a half. This was terrible news for our family, especially considering that our Russian doctors were not encouraging in terms of prognosis. The foreign clinic was chosen according to information from the net. We chose TOP Assuta. Our daughter was examined and operated on there. Then there were courses of chemotherapy, which finally destroyed the tumor. We returned home with a healthy child, for which I am very grateful to the Israeli doctors.

My son finished treatment for neuroblastoma more than a year ago. We were in the Israeli clinic Assuta. Now we are only periodically examined in order to be sure that the disease has receded. If we had stayed in Russia for treatment, then most likely my child would no longer be alive. Our doctors said that there was no hope, but in Israel there were methods of treatment that helped. It’s good that we had enough money and opportunities to organize a trip for treatment.

My brother had neuroblastoma. Here, in the Krasnodar Territory, he underwent two courses of chemotherapy, but there was no significant improvement.

I sent a request to the Acibadem hospital and they answered that they could help. We were greeted very well in Turkey, brought from the airport to the clinic, and the attending physician spent a lot of time on us. They quickly did all the examinations.

The first was chemotherapy. After that, the tumor was removed and my brother was observed in the clinic for some time. Now my brother and I are back home. I have the best memories of the hospital and staff. We always had a guide who spoke Russian with us. The only downside is that it’s all very expensive.
