Diagnostics before brain tumor treatment
Before drawing up a treatment plan, doctors review the tests you have already had and decide whether additional ones are needed. Some records can be assessed before you travel.
Which tests may be needed+
MRI and CT scans help assess the location and size of the tumor. Additional tests, including PET, are ordered if indicated.
Histological analysis of the tissue shows the tumor type and grade, and molecular testing shows its features that are taken into account when choosing treatment. Doctors decide which tests are needed based on the results you already have: not every patient needs the full list.
When a biopsy is needed and how it is done+
