Diagnosis: diagnosis, suspicion of kidney cancer

Thank you, thank you! In Ichilov they told me that I do not have cancer. I came because of my kidney – an ultrasound revealed some kind of formation in my left kidney, and they scared me about oncology. At home they told me that the best option is to have a surgery, completely remove this kidney, and then they will find out whether it is cancer or not. Everyone is afraid of cancer, but just removing a kidney is also a mediocre prospect… What if it’s a cyst and you can live with it?
With this thought, my husband and I went to Israel – I took with me all the medical documents I had. But Ichilov offered me a biopsy. Why wasn’t this offered to me at home? This is the question… We decided that it was better to pay for the biopsy and it completely met all my hopes. It’s not cancer! I don’t need to have my kidney removed. I was instructed and sent home.
This is an unforgettable experience for me. Everything was very fast, even too fast. Flight, terrible heat, enormous stress, hospital and finally relief!
Thank you very much!

Diagnosis: Kidney tumor

Thanks to the Assuta team for a well-organized stay and surgery in Israel. I had a nephrectomy. In my memories styed only the excruciating pain and fear of the upcoming serious operation. Everything went perfectly! Literally in a few days I got back on my feet! At the same time, I rested at the Dead Sea. Now I recommend all friends, neighbors and acquaintances to contact only Assuta and not waste precious time and health visiting Russian Aesculapians! Better to go to Israel right away and not be afraid of anything!

Diagnosis: kidney cancer

My father was operated on for kidney cancer in Assuta. The primary tumor and several large metastases were removed, and a combination of antitumor biological drugs was used to destroy smaller ones.

Diagnosis: kidney cancer

I often had kidney problems. First, the inflammatory processes recurred, then stones and cysts formed. When I started having blood in my urine, pain in the lower back and a fever, I thought it was pyelonephritis. But the ultrasound showed a tumor. I decided to go to a clinic in Israel, where I underwent a full examination. The diagnosis of kidney cancer shocked me, but I knew that Israeli oncologists were some of the best in the world, so they would help me. The tumor was removed during laparoscopy by Dr. Daniel. After the operation, the removed tissue was sent for histology. Tests showed that additional antitumor treatment is needed to prevent the appearance of metastases. Biological drugs were prescribed.

I had surgery for a Wilms tumor on the right; I was very pleased with the treatment in Israel. There would be no such result at home.

Diagnosis: kidney cancer

My kidney cancer was developing rapidly. Pain, nausea, increased fatigue – all this accompanied and tormented me. I went to the hospital, local doctors suspected various diseases, but were unable to make an accurate diagnosis. I went to Israel to Ikhilov clinic. Three days were enough for Israeli specialists to announce the correct diagnosis, which turned out to be disappointing – cancer. After the diagnosis, days of treatment dragged on, during which the doctors did not leave me without attention and always supported and encouraged me. I was surprised by this attitude, as well as the incredibly comfortable conditions in which I found myself. After some time, the disease subsided, which I am immensely happy about and for which I am eternally grateful to the Israeli doctors!

Diagnosis: kidney cancer

It so happened that at the time I developed kidney cancer, I was in Israel with a friend (I came to visit for a month). It was not possible to rest, as terrible pain and general poor health forced me to see doctors. At the Ikhilov clinic, in just three days, I was given all the necessary diagnostic procedures, after which they handed down, as it seemed to me then, a “sentence” – kidney cancer. I won’t talk about my emotions at that moment… However, using the latest treatment methods and modern equipment, Israeli doctors managed to do the impossible – restore my health! Now I’m at home and I’m going to go to Israel to visit a friend, this time for sure to relax! My review of cancer treatment almost in Israel is positive, it couldn’t have been any other way!

Kidney cancer treatment in Israel: innovations and high results

Kidney cancer treatment in Israel using advanced protocolsKidney cancer treatment in Israel is carried out according to advanced protocols, which allow patients to be completely cured or achieve permanent remission.

According to WHO statistics, more than 300 thousand cases of the disease are diagnosed annually in the world. Men after the age of 50 are twice as likely to get the disease as women. The most common type is renal cell carcinoma, which accounts for about 90% of all cases. Less common are transitional cell carcinoma and renal sarcoma.

The peculiarity of pathology is a long asymptomatic course, so it is often detected at the last stages. At the first signs: blood in the urine, pain in the lumbar region – it is necessary to contact specialists for examination.

WHO recognizes kidney cancer treatment in Israel as one of the most effective in the world.

Why choose Israel for kidney cancer treatment?

The advantages of kidney cancer treatment in Israel include:

  • the experience and professionalism of doctors;
  • availability of innovative drugs for targeted and immune therapy;
  • alternative methods, which are successfully developed and implemented here;
  • availability of medical equipment of the latest modifications for accurate diagnosis and development of an effective therapy program;
  • personalized approach.

The Ministry of Health of the country controls the pricing of clinics. Therefore, the cost of kidney cancer treatment in Israel is lower than in the U.S. and Western Europe by about 30%.

What are the success rates of kidney cancer treatment in Israel?

According to summary data from Israeli hospitals, more than 90% of patients with tumors up to 7 cm after surgical treatment fully recovered. In advanced stages, Israeli doctors are able to control the disease and significantly improve the quality of life of patients.

How kidney cancer is diagnosed in Israel

Kidney cancer diagnosis in IsraelAccording to the statistics of the Association of Oncologists of Israel, the diagnosis of 40% of patients from abroad, made in their home country, turns out to be wrong. A comprehensive carcinoma diagnosis program takes place within 2-3 days and includes:

  1. Blood and urine tests – to assess the general state of health and the detection of cancer cells.
  2. Computerized tomography. It visualizes the kidneys and surrounding tissues, helps to clarify the nature of the tumor and its distribution and to identify metastases.
  3. Targeted puncture biopsy of the tumor. Allows you to obtain the material of pathological tissue for microscopic examination, determining the type and aggressiveness of the tumor.
  4. ULTRASOUND. The study allows you to assess the state of the kidneys and surrounding tissues.
  5. PET-CT or 3-Tesla MRI. Studies allow you to detect metastases at early stages with a size of up to 0.2 mm.

Thanks to accurate diagnosis, 30% of kidney cancer cases have been prevented at stage zero.

Treatment of kidney cancer in Israel: the basic principles

Therapy of kidney cancer in Israel is based on a comprehensive approach. A team of specialists, including oncologists, surgeons, nephrologists, urologists, chemotherapists and radiologists, works with patients.

To eliminate the disease in its initial stages, and prevent possible relapse helps surgical intervention. When metastases are detected, a comprehensive therapy is developed using several effective methods and careful monitoring at all stages.

Surgical treatment of kidney cancer in Israel

Surgical treatment of kidney cancer in IsraelThe primary method of surgical treatment is considered to be nephrectomy – surgery for partial or complete removal of the kidney.

  1. With a tumor up to 4 cm, doctors perform a partial nephrectomy. This is an organ-preserving intervention, which involves the removal of the tumor and a small amount of healthy adjacent tissue. The procedure is indicated for patients in whom both kidneys are affected by cancer.
  2. If the size of the neoplasm is over 7 cm and its sprouting is indicated radical resection – removal of the kidney and affected neighboring tissues.

Israeli surgeons prefer robotic laparoscopic nephrectomy. They also perform operations on the Da Vinci machine. This allows the operation to be performed through several small punctures. The most gentle for patients is recognized as nephrectomy by the SILS method. In this intervention, all manipulations are performed by the doctor through a tiny incision near the navel. The procedure is considered one of the most complex and requires high skill of the surgeon.

What methods of kidney cancer removal are used in Israel, if you can not do surgery?

Methods of kidney cancer removal in IsraelIf the results of diagnosis show that surgery is contraindicated for patients, oncologists in Israel use alternative methods to affect the tumor. For example:

  1. Cryoablation – freezing the tumor with a refrigerant at temperatures as low as -140°C, which is administered through a probe.
  2. Radiofrequency ablation – destroying the cancer with radio waves, using an electrode probe.
  3. Arterial embolization – blocking the vessels that feed the malignant cells.
  4. HIFU-therapy – impact on pathological foci with high-frequency ultrasound.
  5. Stereotactic radiosurgery Gamma Knife. With tumors up to 5 cm, this method is successful in 100% of cases.

Minor invasive methods allow you to destroy only malignant foci and do not affect healthy tissues. Ablation of tumors shows good results in the treatment of advanced kidney cancer in Israel. Procedures are performed under the control of computed tomography or ultrasound.

What medications are used in the treatment of kidney cancer in Israel?

Clinics in Israel use innovative drugs that have shown success, including at the 3-4 stage of the disease.

They use new drugs that are not available in many countries:

  1. Targeted therapy. These special drugs pinpoint cancer cells, blocking their growth and spread. It can be used alone or included in a comprehensive treatment plan.
  2. Immune therapy. Based on the capabilities of the immune system to fight malignant processes. It uses anti-cancer vaccines, which are made individually for each patient.
  3. Chemotherapy. Appointed before surgery or to reduce symptoms in metastatic cancer. All chemopreparations used in the treatment of kidney cancer in Israel are approved by the Commission on Medicines. This confirms that they are safe, have reduced toxicity, and are well tolerated by patients.

The leading medical centers are developing and testing new drugs. Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem accounts for 60% of them. For patients, kidney cancer treatment in Israel is often the only opportunity to undergo effective therapy.

How is radiation therapy for kidney cancer treatment in Israel?

Radiotherapy for kidney cancer in Israel is prescribed in these cases:

  • to destroy the remaining malignant cells after surgery;
  • in the presence of multiple metastases;
  • in inoperable cancer.

Radiation therapy in Israeli hospitals is performed on the latest generation linear gas pedals, including MR Linac with integrated MRI. This allows doctors to conduct targeted irradiation of tumor tissues during a short session without affecting healthy tissues. It is especially important to protect the spinal cord and liver. If metastases have reached the brain, radiosurgery is used.

How to treat kidney cancer in Israel at stage 4?

Kidney cancer treatment in Israel at stage 4Israeli oncologists have successful experience in treating advanced cancer. With multiple metastases, removal of malignant foci is carried out using Gamma Knife, ablations, brachytherapy – contact radiation therapy. Patients may be offered treatment with targeted or immune therapies with drugs that are variations of biological therapies. The drugs target a person’s tumor or immune system and produce good results.

Some hospitals, such as Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva, are actively testing oxygen therapy to treat tumors in stages 3-4. The method is based on the intolerance of malignant cells to oxygen. The session takes place in a special chamber in which the patient is supplied with oxygen at 2-3 atmospheres.

After a course of treatment for metastasized kidney cancer in Israel at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, many patients were able to work and continue to lead normal lives.
