In April 2022, at the hospital where I went with complaints of chest and arm pain, weakness, fatigue, a CT scan determined that I had a mass in my chest. Although I met with several thoracic surgeons in Isparta, I did not receive sufficient information and attention regarding the treatment of the thymoma tumor. The doctors I met with said that it was a rare occurrence and that I should go to centers for treatment. As a result of my search for doctors, I met Professor Adalet, whom I first contacted via the Internet. The doctor provided me with detailed information about my disease and the treatment process. This is how I gained confidence in his experience, as I could not get detailed information about this tumor in Denizli and Isparta. In August, in Istanbul, he performed a biopsy in the form of a closed surgery. Since he did not consider it appropriate to remove the entire tumor during the biopsy, he took only a piece and completed the biopsy process. I stayed in the hospital for one night and was discharged. The result of the biopsy was a type B2 thymoma. There were also cancer cells in the tumor capsule. The doctor explained to me the seriousness of the situation and the need to remove the tumor. I was afraid of surgery, as the tumor had reached 8 cm, so Dr. Adalet did not consider it necessary to perform a closed operation. It was more appropriate to remove the tumor through open surgery. A computed tomography scan was done, the tumor did not spread to other organs, but the part where it was attached was very close to the heart and aortic vessels. In early September, I underwent surgery, opening my chest. I spent the first night in the intensive care unit, and in total I stayed in the hospital for five days. I was put in two drains and discharged when the drains were removed. We did not receive oncological treatment, as the doctor removed the tumor without breaking the capsule. I am grateful to my doctor and his team for supporting me on this difficult path and restoring my health. Thank you very much for your openness, sincerity and frankness. I was very fortunate to have known Adalet Demir. He never lost his enthusiasm from the first day to the last day. He even organized the shooting of my Pet Ct himself and made every effort to get the biopsy done the next day. While diagnosis takes 10-15 days, all my procedures were done within 2 days thanks to my doctor Adalet Demir. When the diagnosis of thymoma type B, or thymus gland tumor, was clarified, he explained how to follow the treatment process without any difficulty. As the tumor spread throughout the thymus gland, chemotherapy was started under the guidance of my doctor, Adalet. We communicated constantly during chemotherapy and I don't know how to thank him enough for such a fatherly attitude towards his patients. My thanks and prayers are always with him. The chemotherapy was over and it was the turn of the surgery. Adalet Demir and his team were very good at explaining to me that it was more appropriate to have open surgery to remove the thymoma, what the risks were and what was in store for me. Of course, I had concerns before the surgery. You have a surgery similar to open heart surgery, but thanks to the doctor and his team, I tolerated everything comfortably. I was discharged 1 week after surgery. Now I go for check ups every 3 months and everything is fine, it has been almost 1 year. Endless gratitude to Adalet Demir and his team for their help and fatherly support through this difficult process and for being a very good surgeon.
