Professor Tamar Safra is an oncologist with more than 25 years of experience, a specialist in radiotherapy, head of the oncogynecological department of the Sourasky State Medical Center (Ichilov). She also runs a private practice at the Assuta Clinic.
The doctor treats ovarian cancer with the use of targeted drugs – PARP inhibitors. Performs molecular genetic testing of tumors of the female genital area and, based on their results, selects an individual therapy protocol for each patient.
Works as part of a multidisciplinary team of specialists, which includes radiologists, oncosurgeons, reproductive specialists. If possible, she treats malignant tumors of the breast while preserving the reproductive function of a woman.
The professor is engaged in the study and therapy of breast and ovarian cancer in women with mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Carries out the development and implementation of innovative biological preparations in oncogynecology.
