My dear doctor, esteemed Professor Dr. Ilhan Elmaci, is a highly accomplished specialist in his field.

In April he successfully removed a cavernoma (a vascular cluster) that was located in my brain.

He is a kind, warm person and physician, with excellent communication with patients both before and after surgery.

After examinations for weakness, dizziness, loss of balance and numbness of the left side of my face, which began in early June 2023, I was diagnosed with a hemorrhage caused by a brainstem cavernoma.

The doctors who reviewed the examination results said that the lesion could not be removed, or that surgery was extremely risky and could leave many irreversible consequences, up to complete dependence on others. I was only 44 years old. I had recently retired, my youngest son was still in primary school, and I had so many plans for life.

We met our professor during a very difficult time. Although the destination was obvious, like many others, we began searching for a doctor. We spoke with every specialist we could reach who was willing to listen to us. While we still couldn't come to terms with the illness, we ran from doctor to doctor trying to find a solution.

I wish everyone good health. If you are reading these reviews, it most likely means you have encountered a brain condition. My child had a tumor in the cerebellum, 4 cm in size. It was very large. I traveled to many places and spent a great deal of money.

My review concerns the personal treatment I received, not Dr. Conesa’s professional opinion as a neurosurgeon.
On Tuesday, June 2, I attended a private consultation for a second opinion. The doctor requested several tests that I had not brought with me. He needed the results by Thursday because a medical-board meeting with his team was planned and he wanted to present my case.
Today, June 22, I am still waiting for an answer after phone calls and emails that went unanswered. Someone answered me once last week, and the staff member said that my test results were there for collection. I explained that nobody had told me anything and asked them to give me an answer, but I am still waiting.
Therefore, if you do not want to lose €280, it is better not to go. The human treatment and empathy were extremely poor.

For years I was tormented by pain due to a herniation. Eventually it radiated to my leg, and I was brought to Dr. Yunus on a gurney; he removed the herniation by a fully closed endoscopic method, and that same day I walked out on my own feet. But the real problems started for me after that: when turning right and left, when sitting down and standing up, shooting pains remained in my hip that would not go away. I came and told him about this — he replied that he would prescribe 2 injections with cortisone, and left. The pains did not go away. I went for an MRI, he said the images were clean, and offered to do an injection between the discs; I agreed — it did not help. Unfortunately, the man is not communicative. Then I showed the images to a professor neurosurgeon, and he said the herniation at the L4-L5 level had remained, compressing L5, and that during the endoscopic surgery this fragment was not seen. I was told that orthopedists should not perform spine surgery. In the end I was left with a visible fragment, the herniation was unfortunately in effect "hidden," and I had surgery with another surgeon. Did it get better? Unfortunately, there too it flared up again after 3 months. Now I have already had a 3rd operation elsewhere, where screws had to be put in. Why I told this: do not consider endoscopic surgery a trifle — they do not see everything there, they tear off a fragment and leave the rest. And do not have spine surgery done by orthopedists. If the first operation had been open, I would not have reached this point. I categorically do not recommend it.

I want to express, in front of everyone, endless gratitude to my dear Dr. Yunus. For about three months I was treated at a hospital by another specialist, I was told it could be cured with injections; every time I said I felt bad, I was reassured "it will pass in 15 days," "it will pass in so many days" — and so they strung me along for a whole 3 months. They did ozone therapy, neurotherapy, physiotherapy, stem cell treatment — everything, and from all of it I only got worse. By a happy chance I ended up with Dr. Yunus. For three months I could not walk, sit, sleep, I could not find a place for myself from the pain — and in 1 hour he brought me back to life as if anew. In mid-March 2025 I had a flare-up of an intervertebral herniation, and until the end of April I tried practically everything: from medications to various procedures (physiotherapy, electrophoresis), but none of it produced a noticeable improvement in my well-being. As a result I decided to turn to a clinic that performs intervertebral herniation removal surgery and also has a good reputation and reviews. The Turan & Turan Health Group clinic (Turkey, Bursa) fit these criteria.

First of all I want to note the manager-consultant Aboush, who always answered all my questions promptly and professionally. In a short time I was provided with a plan of pre-operative measures and the surgery itself. After several consultations I flew to Turkey.

The clinic organizes transfers for its patients from the airport to the hotel and after treatment — from the hotel to the airport. This is very important, because the transfer from Istanbul airport to the clinic takes about 2 hours, and the car must be comfortable and convenient for patients with such diagnoses. It is exactly such cars that Turan & Turan Health Group provides when meeting its clients at the airport.

The day after arriving in Turkey, my first meeting with the doctors took place. I was amazed at how everything was organized: no queues, no delays with tests and examination results.

Special attention at the clinic is paid to identifying and reducing risks that may arise from concomitant chronic diseases, if the patient has any. If additional consultation with specialized doctors is required, the clinic promptly arranges such meetings.

Dr. Yunus Uysal, who was assigned as my doctor, impresses with his conciseness in recommendations and conclusions — everything to the point, nothing superfluous. His professionalism, calmness and high qualification inspire confidence that everything will be done at the highest level and with quality.

I would also like to separately note the entire medical and service staff of the clinic. All the employees are friendly and attentive. Even the ordinary clinic staff who were nearby always smiled and wished a speedy recovery!

Despite the high workload in the operating room, the doctors and nurses worked as a single organism. After the surgery everything was also arranged excellently: no fuss, all actions honed to automatism. Working in the service sector, I know how difficult it can be to achieve coordination in the work of a large team.

In conclusion I want to say: if surgery is necessary — choose only the very best! I sincerely recommend the best clinic, Turan & Turan Health Group. Huge gratitude to all the staff who supported me and helped during these days!

On 15 April 2025, Dr Dogan Gucluhan Guclu operated on me for vertebral slippage at VM Medical Park Florya. The vertebrae were stabilized with screws, plates, and an interbody cage. The operation was successful: the next day I could walk in a brace without pain, the numbness and tingling disappeared, and within a week I stopped taking medication. At follow-up, the doctor confirmed bone fusion and allowed me to stop wearing the brace. I had surgery for a patellar dislocation. I am very satisfied with both the result and the whole process. The process was painful, but I noticed something: I have the same problem in both legs. During the surgery there was nothing painful or exhausting, the physiotherapy process went a bit harder, but no more than expected, without unnecessary complications. The physiotherapy department at the hospital where I was operated on is very well organized, the staff was very attentive. Soon the quadriceps muscle started working. At home I had 14 days of recovery, which I did not use in the best way, but when I started physiotherapy, the specialists made up for everything wonderfully. There was locking in the knee, a meniscus tear and wear of the femoral cartilage were found. In one operation they both cleaned the meniscus tear and treated the femur with the microfracture method. About a month and a half later I can say that the surgery went successfully. The recovery result is also affected by accompanying factors, especially the regular professional performance of exercises to strengthen the thigh muscles. Many thanks to my doctor for the explanations before and after the surgery, as well as for the attention and care.

Previously I had meniscus surgery, now — a revision of the anterior cruciate ligament, and now I am in the 5th month. I am very comfortable, I can bend the knee. I came from Holland and searched for a doctor in Istanbul for a week until I met Dr. Gokhan. My father had a 5 cm brain tumor in a very dangerous place and the surgery was extremely risky. On August 9, 2020 on the advice of Dr. Ozgur Ozdemir I had surgery for a herniated lumbar disc, the pain did not go away, at all consultations they said it will pass, wait, it takes time, after 30 days I went to another hospital, they did an MRI, they said there is a herniated disc, they will do surgery, I sent the result of the MRI to Mr. Ozgur, another herniated disc has formed, he says that if it does not go away in physiotherapy, then surgery is needed.
