Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer at Medipol Cancer Center
Oncologists diagnose cancer using 256-slice CT, 3 Tesla MRI, PET-CT, digital mammography with tomosynthesis as well as the world's first and only single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanner with a flat detector, the most comfortable for patients.
During the surgical removal of brain tumors, intraoperative MRI is used, which guarantees a good result. Surgical treatment of some types of cancer is performed by surgeons using the Da Vinci robotic system of the thyroid gland, kidney, prostate gland, and uterus. Many operations for oncology are minimally invasive with a short rehabilitation period.
Radiation therapy for cancer is performed by radiotherapists using the latest generation linear accelerators Varian Trilogy and Varian True Beam. Doctors use the most advanced and safe technology of irradiation RapidArc. Radioiodine therapy for thyroid cancer is available.
Doctors perform radiosurgery (non-surgical treatment) of cancer and metastases of any localization using the CyberKnife system. Tumors of the brain and neck are removed using the Gamma Knife system. A personalized interdisciplinary treatment protocol for most patients includes targeted and immune drugs. In oncohematological diseases, bone marrow transplantation is made.
BMT at Medipol Hospital
Autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation is available to foreign patients of any age. In children, this procedure is most often performed for leukemia, lymphomas, aplastic and sickle cell anemia, and immunodeficiency. In adult patients, doctors perform BMT for multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemia, malignant lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndrome. According to the statistics of the center, the success rate of bone marrow transplantation in Medipol is over 91%.
Liver and Kidney Transplantations in Medipol
