Diagnosis: ovarian cancer

Unfortunately, many people in my family have had cancer. On the female line, I was given such an oncopathology as ovarian cancer. It’s not that I was ready for such a thing, but I always knew that if something suddenly happened, I would fly to Israel. Well, I ended up in Israel at the Ichilov clinic with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The doctors scheduled an operation for me, assuring me that everything would be fine. The operation was performed so carefully that within a few days I did not feel any pain at all. Repeated analyzes confirmed that the malignant process was stopped. That’s how quickly I was able to beat cancer. And all thanks to Israeli doctors.

I was treated in Israel for ovarian cancer. I can characterize my treatment process as follows: fast, high-quality, reliable, effective. Israeli specialists did not fail and fully justified their status as one of the best doctors in the world. I recommend Israel to everyone for the treatment of various diseases. Although I wish everyone to go to this country only for vacation. Do not be sick!

Diagnosis: ovarian cancer

I found out about my problem by such a symptom as pain in the ovary during and after sexual intercourse. I didn’t think it was anything serious, so I postponed going to the doctor. But later the pain began to torment me more, I couldn’t sleep at night, and on top of that, I started to lose weight dramatically. I knew that sudden weight loss was a bad sign. That’s when I rushed to the gynecologist. The doctor prescribed me a bunch of tests and research (and ultrasound, and blood tests, smears, etc.), after which he told me his assumptions – ovarian cancer. I didn’t trust the local doctor, well, I don’t trust domestic medicine! The man insisted that we need a foreign clinic. They began to look at the prices, their eyes widened from the prices in Germany or the USA. And here they saw the prices of Israeli clinics – they were significantly different from the prices in European countries or America (it is rightly said that everything is known by comparison). I filled out an application on the website of one of the clinics in Israel, and the representatives of this clinic called me back the same day. The manager very respectfully and thoroughly explained to me everything needed for treatment in Israel, said that they would also help me organize my flight. I dared to fly to Israel. The representatives of the clinic really helped me, they met me at the Israeli airport and escorted me to the clinic. In addition, I was accompanied by an interpreter assigned to me by the clinic. However, there was no urgent need for his services, as almost all members of the clinic’s medical staff are fluent in Russian. The next stage was the diagnosis, which was completed quickly, literally in two days. To my surprise, the diagnosis was confirmed. Doctors prescribed an operation, after which they applied a new method called HIPEC. As a result of such treatment, I recovered. I do not regret my choice and want to say to all women who have faced the same problem: do not despair, there is a way out! Ovarian cancer is not a sentence! Call, write, go to Israel, doctors from God work there!

Timely diagnosis and treatment at Assuta clinic saved my life. My stomach started to grow, at first I thought it was bloating, but it turned out to be ascites. Our doctors could not determine the diagnosis for a long time, they suspected peritoneal cancer. But in Israel, after the examination, they immediately decided on the diagnosis – stage 4 cancer of the right ovary. I was waiting for an operation, 3 courses of chemistry. No more cancer!

Diagnosis: ovarian cancer

I treated stage 3 ovarian cancer in my homeland with surgery and chemotherapy. Almost all the hair on my head fell out, my health began to deteriorate. I changed my oncology center to the Israeli Ichilov Oncology Clinic. I came to Israel already with stage 4B. The tumor turned out to be resistant to the chemotherapy that was prescribed to me in Saratov. In Ihilov, I underwent a second operation, removed the damaged parts of the organs, and prescribed new drugs for chemotherapy and targeted therapy. It was possible to stop metastasis, now there are no symptoms of the disease.

Why it is important to undergo high-quality diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel

According to WHO, ovarian cancer treatment in Israel is recognized as the most successful in the world. This is mainly due to the competent use of modern medicine and personalized approach.

This dangerous cancer may not manifest itself for a long time. Therefore, it is often diagnosed at late stages, when the tumor has spread to other organs. Pathology is the cause of death of every fifth woman in the world with a cancer diagnosis.

Doctors do everything possible to treat ovarian cancer in Israel, so that the treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel allows patients to recover completely. Often medics manage to bring into long-term remission, regardless of the stage at which the disease was detected.

Why choose Israel for ovarian cancer treatment?

Medical centers in Israel for ovarian cancer treatmentPatients from different countries turn to doctors in Israel for treatment of ovarian cancer for many reasons:

  1. Israeli laboratories perform genetic testing for women at risk of developing the pathology.
  2. The accuracy of oncologic diagnoses in Israel is 100%. This confirms the WHO report from 11.03.202Z g. In 34% of cases, oncologists correct patients’ diagnoses from other countries.
  3. In Israel, they do not use a single protocol of therapy but combine different options, selecting an effective complex for each woman.
  4. In 2023, Israel introduced tax incentives, thanks to which the price of ovarian cancer treatment has decreased by about 20%.
  5. Israeli oncologists are recognized as world experts. Many of them are the authors of unique developments and consult patients and colleagues from around the world. Among them are professors of the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv – Irina Stefanski, Moshe Inbar, and Dan Grisaro.

Treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel is aimed at preserving fertility. If the tumor is found on one ovary in a young woman, doctors try to remove only it, leaving the second and the uterus. Eggs are also frozen before the start of therapy. In the future, more than 70% of patients will be able to use their genetic material to conceive.

What types of ovarian cancer are there?

It is important to accurately determine the type and type of tumor; from this depends on the prognosis and tactics of therapy. Malignant ovarian tumors can be of epithelial and non-epithelial origin. Epithelial tumors account for 80% of cases. More often diagnosed adenocarcinoma of the ovaries.

Rare varieties, for example, light-cell ovarian cancer, are classified as aggressive tumors. They are difficult to treat and have a negative prognosis. Patients do not need to take risks, it is better to immediately turn to Israeli doctors who have successful experience in treating complex cases. This increases the chances of recovery, which is confirmed by reviews of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer after treatment in Israel.

For patients who are diagnosed with benign cysts, it is desirable to undergo regular examinations in Israel. This will allow timely detection of the onset of pathology, to begin treatment.

What methods of examination are used in ovarian cancer in Israel?

МРТ, КТ органов малого таза при раке яичниковIn addition to the examination of the gynecologist in Israel are used:

  1. Transvaginal ultrasound allows the doctor to assess the structure, size, and type of neoplasm.
  2. Biochemical and clinical blood tests. Including a test for the oncomarker CA-125-protein, which produces atypical cells.
  3. MRI and CT scans of the pelvic organs give images of organs and tissues and visualize the localization of the tumor.
  4. Biopsy – histological analysis of a sample of a cancerous tumor obtained during puncture or laparoscopic intervention.
  5. PET-CT allows the detection of cancerous foci in different structures of the body. Appointed when the diagnosis is confirmed.

In some medical centers, for example, in Assuta Clinic in Tel Aviv, the FoundationOne CDx test has been performed since 2020. This is an informative analysis of tumor tissue obtained during a biopsy. The study shows mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes. The doctor selects a drug for targeting or immune therapy based on the test results and predicts the outcome. The technique is approved by the FDA, and according to the developers, the accuracy exceeds 99%.

In Israel, cancer diagnosis usually lasts no more than 3 days.

What surgeries are performed in Israel for ovarian cancer?

Surgical treatment of ovarian cancer is one of the main methods in Israel. Laparotomy surgery with a large incision is performed when other methods have been exhausted. If it is impossible to carry out organ-preserving surgery, doctors at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa apply minimally invasive surgery. Depending on the stage, localization, and extent of cancer are performed:

  • ovariectomy – removal of one or both ovaries;
  • hysterectomy – removal of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes;
  • Cytoreduction – remove all visible tumor foci in the abdominal cavity, which is indicated when the cancer has spread beyond the small pelvis.

If necessary, the surgeon in the intervention process performs lymphodissection – removal of nearby lymph nodes.

Robotic surgery for ovarian cancer in Israel

Robot-assisted interventions are performed by skilled surgeons using the Da Vinci system. Manipulations are performed through minimal incisions of up to 1.5 cm. This intervention has several advantages over traditional surgery:

  • thanks to the computerized control panel, the risk of inaccurate movements is reduced to zero;
  • 3D visualization system allows the surgeon to see the operating field in the smallest detail and control the course of the procedure;
  • low traumatization of tissues and nerves;
  • rapid recovery of patients.

Surgical treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel robot-assisted method is especially indicated at the 3-4 stage of the disease.

Non-surgical removal of ovarian tumors in Israel

Non-surgical removal of ovarian tumor in Israel - CyberknifeTreatment of ovarian cancer in Israel in leading hospitals allows you to remove tumors of different degrees and localization with the help of innovative technologies. They can be an alternative to classical surgical intervention. In the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem perform:

  1. Photodynamic therapy. The patient is injected intravenously with a photosensitizer that accumulates in cancer cells. The tumor is then irradiated with a 365 n/m laser beam. As a result, the cellular structure of the cancer cell and the vascular system surrounding the tumor are destroyed.
  2. Laser tumor removal – laser destruction of the affected tissues is performed under the control of computed tomography.
  3. Cyberknife – stereotactic radiosurgery, which is based on the use of multiple narrow beams of radiation directed into the center of the tumor.
  4. Gamma Knife – a variant of stereotactic radiosurgery indicated for targeting tumors located in hard-to-reach areas.
  5. Thermoperfusion – tumor exposure to high temperatures of ultrasound waves or radiofrequency current.

Non-surgical treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel is less traumatic than surgery. It does not require general anesthesia and hospitalization.

Drug treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel: what are the features?

In Israel, innovative drugs are used to treat all types of ovarian cancer. Many of them are not available in other countries.

They include both chemo- and bio-drugs of the new generation, which show their effectiveness in metastasized cancer. These are targeted and immune drugs with antitumor activity. They aim to detect and block malignant cells and activate the patient’s immune system to fight the cancer.

In order to predict how a patient will respond to ovarian cancer treatment, laboratory analysis is performed in Israel. This approach increases survival rates for patients with rare tumor types.

To minimize the toxicity of chemotherapy, doctors at Herzliya Medical Center are assisted by a computer system for making drugs based on artificial intelligence. A woman has selected a combination of drugs that are more effective in her case.

HIPEC therapy: how does it work?

In the process of surgical removal of ovarian cancer, surgeons in Israel can perform intraperitoneal hyperthermal chemotherapy. During the procedure, the doctor injects a chemo drug heated to 42°C into the patient’s cancer site. Due to the fact that it does not enter the bloodstream, the procedure has almost no adverse reactions.

Treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel with hormone therapy

Certain types of tumors are hormone-dependent. Special drugs can prevent the growth of cancer cells. In the Sheba Clinic in Tel Aviv, they are selected individually for each patient after molecular genetic oncotest Symphony on the susceptibility of the tumor to hormones.

Hormonal treatment of ovarian cancer in Israel can be used as the main treatment in the early stages. In the case of advanced cancer, it can replace chemotherapy. In addition, it is combined with radiation therapy. Women in reviews of ovarian cancer treatment in Israel write that they respond well to hormone therapy. To avoid addiction, doctors change medications.

What is the price of ovarian cancer treatment in Israel?

In Israel, the price of ovarian cancer treatment is determined by the type and stage of the disease. In stage 1 cancer, the patient can perform laparoscopic surgery, its cost will not be high. In more advanced forms in Israel, surgery will be added to the course of drug therapy, which increases the price of ovarian cancer treatment.

cost of ovarian cancer treatment in IsraelSome patients with metastasized cancer need cytoreduction surgery, and HIPEC-therapy, which also increases the cost.
