Diagnosis: Hip and knee prosthetics

During the year, I underwent two hip and knee surgeries. First of all, I would like to express my satisfaction with the work of Ada Tıp Clinic. Thanks to the very attentive and caring staff, I did not have any problems on the orthopedic floor. As for my doctor Ozgur Çiçekli, he is an excellent doctor and a wonderful person. You can entrust yourself to him without any hesitation.

Diagnosis: knee replacement

Due to deforming osteoarthritis, my knee almost completely stopped bending. In addition, it constantly hurt, so I always had to take painkillers. In Assuta, I had an appointment with Ilya Pekarsky, who recommended that I put in an endoprosthesis and explained why it was important. The operation went well and I can walk without limping.

I am writing from Azerbaijan. My cousin was seriously suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee joint. Professor Omer Farouk Bilgen restored his knee by placing a prosthesis. We heard a lot about this doctor in Baku. I would like to thank all the Medicabil staff and Dr. Bilgen. It’s been 6 months since the operation and everything is fine.

Which country is considered the best for knee joint replacement surgery?

Patients who have decided to have a joint replacement abroad are often faced with the problem of choosing the best clinic. Based on more than 8 years of experience in cooperation with leading orthopedic centers around the world, the Experts Medical team has compiled its rating. It includes the countries that are currently considered to be the best for knee replacement abroad.

Our selection is based on research of clinics and doctors, practical experience in the field, and feedback from our patients who have undergone the procedure. Let’s take a look at what factors make certain countries leaders in arthroplasty.

Why choose Turkey for knee replacement abroad?

Knee replacement abroadIn recent years, Turkey has established itself as one of the leading destinations for knee arthroplasty. One of the key reasons why many patients consider Turkey to be the best country for knee replacement is the high professionalism and experience of local doctors. Turkish surgeons undergo multi-stage training and practice in the world’s leading orthopedic centers. This allows them to successfully perform complex surgeries using the latest medical achievements.

Clinics in Turkey use high-quality endoprostheses that meet international standards. They are made of high-strength and biocompatible materials, such as titanium and high-molecular polyethylene, which ensures durability and reliability of implants. The state-of-the-art medical equipment available at Turkish orthopedic centers plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and safety of surgical procedures. Technologies such as 3D visualization and computer-assisted surgery are used to improve surgical outcomes and reduce patient recovery time.

Another important reason why patients choose Turkey as a destination for knee replacement abroad is the affordable cost of treatment. With comparable quality of medical services, prices for arthroplasty in Turkish orthopedic centers are noticeably lower than in Europe and the USA.

What are the advantages of Israel as a destination for knee replacement abroad?

Knee replacement surgery abroadMany patients choose endoprosthetics in Israel, since this country is one of the world’s centers of orthopedics. Doctors in Israeli clinics actively use navigation systems and robotic units in surgery, which makes it possible to perform operations with high precision and minimal risk to the patient. Innovative technologies ensure more precise positioning of implants, which contributes to faster restoration of joint function and reduces the likelihood of complications.

Israel is considered the best country for knee replacement surgery also because of its well-developed rehabilitation medicine. Local hospitals develop a personalized recovery plan for each patient. It includes physiotherapy, use of various devices to restore mobility, physical exercises and other methods. Israeli doctors pay great attention to planning post-operative care and supporting patients at every stage of the rehabilitation period.

Is it worth having knee replacement surgery in Germany?

Knee replacement abroadGermany is a popular destination for orthopedic treatment. One of the key advantages of German clinics is the use of advanced diagnostic methods (digital X-ray, CT, MRI). They make it possible to obtain the most complete information about the condition of joints and develop an effective endoprosthetic treatment plan for each patient.

The experience and qualifications of German orthopaedic surgeons are recognized worldwide. Many of them are recognized experts in the field of endoprosthetics. They actively use innovative surgical techniques and modern equipment – navigation systems, robotic systems, 3D printing machines. The only disadvantage of German clinics is the relatively high cost of knee arthroplasty compared to other countries.

Why should I have knee replacement surgery abroad?

medical tourism knee replacementAccording to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, knee arthroplasty is one of the most commonly performed orthopaedic procedures. This is due to the high effectiveness of endoprosthetic surgery. It can improve knee function, reduce pain, and increase mobility. Therefore, many patients are interested in the possibility of knee replacement abroad. This choice, indeed, is associated with a number of pluses. The most significant of them are:

  • Access to advanced medical technology. Many foreign clinics are equipped with the latest medical equipment and use advanced surgical approaches, which increases the accuracy and success of operations.
  • Highly qualified surgeons. Knee joint replacement abroad is often performed by leading specialists in orthopedics and endoprosthetics who have extensive experience and international recognition.
  • Comprehensive approach to treatment and rehabilitation. Foreign medical centers offer comprehensive packages that include diagnosis, the surgery itself, postoperative care and rehabilitation, which contributes to faster recovery.
  • Shorter waiting times. As a rule, the waiting time for surgery abroad is much shorter, especially in countries with developed health care systems.
  • Individualized treatment. Most clinics abroad practice a personalized approach, taking into account the peculiarities and wishes of each patient.
  • Loyal pricing policy. The cost of knee joint replacement abroad can be more favorable, especially in countries with an actively developing branch of medicine focused on foreign patients.

In addition, many people who have undergone knee joint replacement abroad note the high level of medical service and express satisfaction with the results of treatment. Traveling to another country for treatment is also a unique opportunity to restore health after arthroplasty in sanatorium and resort conditions.

What is the cost of knee replacement abroad?

knee replacement cost abroadThe range of prices for arthroplasty can fluctuate due to a variety of factors, such as the type of prosthesis, the complexity of the intervention, the duration of hospitalization. But it largely depends on the choice of country. In Turkey, for example, endoprosthetics is noticeably cheaper compared to other medical tourism destinations for knee arthroplasty. Prices for treatment here start from €5000. This is due to the active development of medicine in the country: numerous clinics compete with each other, and therefore try to make patients more favorable offers. However, in this case loyal pricing policy is not a sign of low quality. Today, service in Turkish medical centers meets strict international standards.

In Germany and Israel, the cost of arthroplasty is somewhat higher – from €10000. These countries are known for the highest quality of medical care and the use of innovative technologies in surgery. Higher prices for treatment here are due to the peculiarities of financing the medical infrastructure, high fees of doctors, as well as the complexity of the technologies used.
