Liv Hospital Ankara is accredited by JCI. This is an international standard that confirms the safety and high quality of medical services provided in the clinic. The hospital has 159 beds for hospitalization and receives more than 67,000 patients annually.

Key Features of Liv Hospital Ankara in Turkey

Liv Hospital Ankara is a modern clinic that attracts patients from many countries around the world. Among its advantages are:

  • modern equipment, such as the DaVinci robotic surgical system and the latest generation True Beam Stx linear accelerator;
  • the largest number of minimally invasive surgeries in Ankara;
  • expert medical care in the fields of oncology, stem cell therapy, neurology, and neurosurgery;
  • one of the leading clinics in Turkey specializing in robotic laparoscopy.

Liv Hospital Ankara has received many prestigious awards. Among them are "Best Cancer Hospital", "Best Stem Cell Clinic", as well as the "Best Medical Center" award from the Turkish Association of Public Hospitals (2018).

Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery

The Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cardiovascular diseases. Liv Hospital Ankara cardiac surgeons use innovative methods, such as minimally invasive heart valve surgery using TAVI technology. This approach allows replacing a damaged aortic valve without opening the chest.

The clinic is equipped with the Da Vinci robotic surgery system, which is used, among other things, to perform precise cardiac surgeries. To perform an accurate assessment of myocardial perfusion, the department's doctors use advanced SPECT-CT technology. It can be used to visualize blood flow in the heart muscle.

Neurology and Neurosurgery

The doctors of the Neurology Department and the Neurosurgery Center of Liv Hospital Ankara offer advanced methods of treating diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. Here, they use innovative deep brain stimulation technology to treat movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease.

The clinic's neurosurgeons perform minimally invasive spinal surgeries that do not require long-term recovery for patients. The treatment of stroke and traumatic brain injuries using modern neuroprotection protocols is one of the specialized areas of the department's activity.

The Neuro-Oncology Center specializes in the treatment of brain tumors using high-tech neuroimaging methods. In addition, they conduct comprehensive electrophysiological and neurophysiological studies for a detailed assessment of nerve and muscle disorders.

Orthopedics and Traumatology

The Orthopedics Department of LIV Hospital Ankara is known for its expertise in the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases. Complex surgeries to replace hip, knee, and shoulder joints are performed here. The doctors of the department actively use robotic systems that allow for precise positioning of the endoprosthesis and increase the success rate of surgical intervention. Rehabilitation after sports injuries involves the development of personalized patient recovery programs.

Cancer Treatment at LIV Hospital Ankara

Oncology Center doctors offer a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms. The department is equipped with a True Beam STx linear accelerator. This is an advanced system designed to deliver radiotherapy with the highest precision. True Beam STx technology allows high doses of radiation to be delivered directly to the tumor site with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue. The system is equipped with a 4D visualization function to track tumor movement in real time. This is especially important when treating neoplasms in organs that move during breathing. Integration with a CT scanner allows for precise treatment planning and tailoring to the medical needs of each patient. If you are interested in treatment at the Liv Clinic in Ankara, call us or leave a request. A certified coordinator of Experts Medical will provide you with a free consultation on all your questions and help you organize your treatment in Turkey on a turnkey basis.

Diagnosis: Cardiology consultation

On the recommendation of an acquaintance, after the age of 48, I went for an examination for the first time on 17.01.2026 to the cardiology department to see associate professor Alper Kanbay. I had back pain. Exceptionally attentive, explaining point by point and several times over…

Overall I am satisfied. The doctors, the staff, the hygiene — everything is fine. Only during the last blood draw there was a single staff member, and it was a bit hard for the nurse — fairly so. Attention needs to be paid to staffing levels. For more efficient work.

In the 6th month of our search for a doctor for our son, we were finally able to say “found.” In various hospitals, in the field of pediatrics, we had negative experiences with many doctors, but here, after an appointment with the specialist doctor Büşra Süzen Çelbek on the 10th floor, my spouse and I said — that’s it, we have found our doctor. Dear professor, may your energy never run out, health to you and to our children, thank you.

My daughter was examined by Dr. Büşra Süzen Çelbek from the pediatrics department. Our doctor’s approach and attention were very good. With the wish that we go through the period leading my daughter to adulthood together.

Also, among the pediatric department staff, Tuğba Telli was very helpful with scheduling this appointment and with the overall organization — with patience, a smile, and a sincere willingness to help. Many thanks to her as well.

Diagnosis: General surgery

At Liv Hospital Ankara today I had a very bad patient experience. I was admitted for a planned operation in the general surgery department, a catheter was placed, and I was kept in surgical clothing for an hour and a half. After I had already been taken down to the operating room, the operation was cancelled with the words “no longer required.” Considering that earlier I had such pain that I could not walk, I was given help in the emergency room, and various specialists (a dermatologist, an ER doctor, a general surgeon) recommended the operation, such disorganized handling of this process was exhausting both physically and psychologically. You cannot put patients in the position of victims at the last minute like this.

The nurse and the floor staff were very friendly — I have no negative criticism toward them.

When my husband and I came for a check-up, in the eye department we ended up with the operating doctor Altan Kaman. It was the fastest eye examination of my life. When I was reading the letters, he, without even waiting to see what the last one was, moved on to the next. He had some kind of haste that was incomprehensible to us. He did not even look at us. On top of that, since I wear contact lenses, he suggested laser surgery 😅. For this reason we will not come to this hospital for a check-up again. I do not recommend it.

Diagnosis: Thyroid surgery

I chose Liv Hospital Ankara believing it to be a full-service hospital, and had thyroid surgery here. There were no problems with the operation itself and the surgical process.

However, at the post-operative check-up in endocrinology, I was told that I needed to receive low-dose radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment, and that this hospital does not provide such treatment, and I would need to go to another center.

The fact that this information was not communicated before the operation seriously let me down. If they had said from the start that the RAI therapy service is not provided, I would have planned the operation at a hospital where I could go through this whole process in one center.

Now I am forced to start the process all over again at another hospital — they do an ultrasound, blood tests and assessments again. This is both a waste of time and unnecessary exhaustion of the patient.

I believe that patients who are about to have thyroid surgery should be clearly informed before the operation about the possible RAI therapy process and about whether the hospital provides this service.

My review is so that patients considering this operation can make a more informed decision.

Diagnosis: Tumor

At LIV Hospital, most of the doctors are truly successful and very good in their fields. In addition, patients are treated politely and helped willingly. For example, when I went for a health screening, the radiologist İbrahim Kala was able to see a very small mass. Approaching the examination aggressively in a positive sense, he was attentive and, having seen the mass, directed me correctly. Thanks to him, the early diagnosis made my treatment relatively easy. I think he is a promising doctor. Likewise, my medical oncologist Gökhan Erdem is also truly very attentive, does not miss anything necessary, gives extra time, talks, asks, explains. Every time I had an appointment with him, I left feeling very good. However, there is one very important point that casts a shadow over the work of LIV Hospital. “Some” of the staff at the reception desks are completely impolite and behave as if they have not received any education in patient psychology. There is no need to lump everyone together, but I believe the problem is significant… This seriously reduces people’s satisfaction.

A modern hospital. There is one point — in my opinion the staff are inexperienced. These people are very far from providing consistent service. This modern building can only rise with experienced, kindly disposed staff. In fact, what brought me to Liv Hospital was professor Serkan Altınova. With his success, knowledge and beauty of soul he is an incomparable person. To deal with such a wonderful person is, of course, also commendable. This wonderful line of professor Serkan is a meaningful example for you too. I wish that you reconsider your modern structure and in a short time reach the place where you should be. Be well. Diagnosis: Pediatric follow-up

My little one has been monitored at Liv Hospital since 2 months of age. First of all, our pediatrician is a good and warm-hearted person, and informs us about every question of ours, examines the child with care — we have no complaints about the doctor himself. The supporting staff-secretaries are likewise always friendly and attentive. However: not once in all our visits have we been seen at the appointed time, we wait, like everyone there, it is constantly so busy… and waiting with small children is very hard — they go hungry, want to sleep, and in the end, in pandemic conditions, we wait in a crowd — a solution needs to be found for this.

The second problem is that the doctors’ schedules are so packed that, for example, if your little one falls ill and urgently needs to be taken to the doctor, it is impossible to find a slot with your own doctor. The elevators are completely insufficient, you wait a very long time. And there is also the parking issue — even if you came for a 5-minute matter, every time you pay 30 lira to the parking attendant.

Diagnosis: COVID-19 test

On 24.12.2020 at around 10:00 I came for a coronavirus test. On 25.12.2020 I was traveling to Germany, so I took this test. The staff were attentive, thanks to them. The person taking the sample acted very roughly, my nose hurt badly. I cried a lot. Today is 01.01.2021, I am in Germany, and my nose still hurts and aches. The test result, thank God, is negative. But 10 days of quarantine — I could not go to a doctor. At home I took painkillers. Whoever I ask says it did not hurt for them. What kind of roughness is this. He literally scraped off the mucous membrane, a wound. The pain radiates to my eyes, to my head. So I complain here about the one who at that time, in the emergency room, took my swab and sample from my nose. For your information and attention…

I made an appointment with a professor in orthopedics for my mother. When we came to the hospital, the professor was in surgery — they did not take us in for the appointment, and when we asked why they had given an appointment then, they explained “we cannot know how long the surgery will last,” and directed us to an associate professor. Fortunately, we were satisfied with the doctor. After this, we have the right to a free follow-up appointment within 10 days. When we called to make an appointment again, they say the doctor has no free days, even though at the first appointment they sent us to him without an appointment. They say they will give an appointment only after 10 days — as if they are mocking us. They did not help in any way, and in the end they told my mother, who can barely walk: come to the hospital, talk to the assistant, maybe he will see you. We say — give us the assistant’s number then, and they do not do that either. That is how much they value their patients — an elderly woman who can barely walk has to go there and beg the assistant to let her in.
