This multidisciplinary university clinic is the educational and scientific base of the Medical Faculty of Tel Aviv University. Infrastructure of Assaf Harofeh

Childbirth in Asaf Harofeh: Features and Benefits
Most women give birth naturally in a well-equipped maternity ward, which includes:
- stay in the antenatal ward;
- childbirth in a separate ward of increased comfort;
- stay together with the child in a separate postpartum ward.
Childbirth takes place in a cozy single room on a comfortable and functional bed. A woman can give birth in any position convenient for her. Childbirth in the water in the jacuzzi is provided. Conventional births are attended by an experienced midwife, the doctor examines the woman on admission and several times during childbirth.
Most women choose labor pain relief with a controlled epidural anesthesia. An indwelling catheter is placed in the epidural space of the lumbar spine. Through it, with the help of a dosing pump, an analgesic enters. A woman in labor can independently use the button on the pump to change the dose of the medicine with increasing pain.
The husband (or close relative), if desired, takes part in the birth process. The entire regime of the 48-hour stay after childbirth is built taking into account the needs of the woman. The child can continue to be with her mother and will be taken away for examinations. Or it will be brought to the mother for feeding from the children's department, which is located nearby.
At Assaf Harofeh, an interdisciplinary team of specialists prepares for childbirth and delivers successfully in pregnant women with various pathologies, including cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and severe myopia. An age-related woman in labor for obstetricians in Asaf Harofeh is also a common case of natural childbirth. Birth at Assaf Harofeh is a happy birth that the mother, her family, and staff experience as a joyful occasion. Another advantage of giving birth in this center is the “state” cost of delivery.

For childbirth, we chose the Israeli hospital Asaf Harofe, and did not regret it for a single day.
