Dr. Vivek Garg is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Chief Cataract Surgeon at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi (India). He also practices at Max Hospital in Sushant Lok (Gurgaon).
His main area of work is cataract surgery using phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. This is the modern “gold standard” of cataract treatment with a small incision, rapid recovery and no need for sutures.
Additionally, Dr. Garg completed training in the management of glaucoma and retinal diseases at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi). This is significant for the patient: at the initial cataract examination, underlying glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy is often detected as well.
