Selim Turan graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul and completed a five-year specialization in otorhinolaryngology at Antalya Training and Research Hospital. His specialization work was dedicated to rhinology and allergology, i.e., nasal diseases that affect breathing.

The doctor holds 13 certificates of advanced training. These include the 21st and 22nd Rhinoplasty Schools, fellowship programs, live surgery courses, and preservation rhinoplasty courses in Istanbul, as well as courses on minimally invasive facial aesthetics in Ankara. In 2023, at the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) meeting in Verona, he chaired a session on eyelid, nose, and cheek aesthetics and presented a report on nasal tip dynamics.

In 2026, a scientific paper co-authored by Dr. Turan was published. The study focuses on the storage of donor nasal cartilage: how to keep it viable and safe for subsequent reconstructive surgeries.
