Professor Selcuk Basa — one of the most respected oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Turkey with over forty years of experience. Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of Bahçeşehir University since 2021. Sees patients at the BAU Dental Hospital in Istanbul.
The doctor has one of the strongest academic CVs in Turkish dentistry. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of Ankara University in 1982. He completed his specialization in oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery at Hacettepe University in 1986.
The doctor worked at Pasteur Hospital (1986–1990), as an associate professor and deputy director at Selçuk University (1991–1994). From 1994 to 2016 he worked at Marmara University, where from 2004 to 2008 he was Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
The doctor has extensive international experience. He completed internships at leading clinics around the world: Medical University of South Carolina (1989), Guy’s Hospital in London (1990), Marien Hospital in Stuttgart (1999), Armand-Trousseau Hospital in Paris, University of Bonn (2001), University of North Carolina (2005).
Areas of expertise: implantology (zygomatic implants, All-on-4), orthognathic surgery, bone tissue augmentation, sinus lift, surgery of jaw cysts and the temporomandibular joint.

Active scientific activity with numerous publications in international journals. Co-author of works on alternative bone tissue expansion techniques in immediate implantation, on craniofacial fibrous dysplasia, on orthognathic surgery and augmentation.
Under the doctor’s supervision, many specialists in Turkish dentistry have defended their PhD dissertations.
