Mordechai Goldenberg’s work covers a wide range of issues related to gynecology, obstetrics and infertility treatment. Among the key areas of research are minimally invasive surgical methods of treatment, reproductive technologies, diagnostics and therapy in the field of female reproductive medicine.
- Minimally invasive techniques : Goldenberg has developed and applied unique techniques such as combined laparoscopic and microsurgical extra-abdominal ovarian cystectomy, as well as laparoscopic techniques for detorsion of appendiceal torsion. These procedures minimize tissue trauma, shorten the rehabilitation period, and increase organ preservation.
- Research on in vitro fertilization (IVF): Goldenberg has extensively studied the efficacy and safety of IVF in a variety of contexts, including the use of Essure microinserts for patients with hydrosalpinx and complicated cases after multiple failed IVF attempts. He has also investigated the consequences of multiple pregnancies after IVF and suggested risk reduction approaches in such cases.
- Diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis: His work highlights diagnostic techniques for deep infiltrating endometriosis as well as the long-term results of surgical treatment of bladder endometriosis. Goldenberg proposed a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of severe forms of this disease.
- Obstetrics and Gynecology: Research includes analysis of various treatments for pregnancy disorders, including diagnosis and therapy of heterotopic pregnancy and interstitial pregnancy using methotrexate. He has also studied the effect of aspirin on preventing pregnancy-related hypertension and suggested approaches to managing high-risk pregnancies.
- New diagnostic technologies: Goldenberg investigated the accuracy of preoperative diagnosis in acute abdominal conditions, and the efficacy of Doppler and sonohysterography for detecting residual trophoblastic tissue and endometrial tumors.
