Leaving aside some negative experiences I had at the hospital, Ms. Hediye is a highly competent and reassuring doctor. She agreed to perform a difficult fibroid operation that other doctors would not undertake or quoted very high prices for, saying, “We can do this; do not be afraid.” She was then beside me during pregnancy and childbirth, when placental problems put my life at risk. I am grateful to her. Appointments may run late, and reaching her by phone outside working hours can vary, but my trust in Ms. Hediye has not changed.

At first, Ms. Hediye was attentive, but later that attention disappeared. We underwent procedures three times during treatment, each time with renewed hope, but the outcome was unsuccessful. Afterward, the doctor provided neither an explanation nor support. Unfortunately, I recommend neither the doctor nor the hospital. We will not even go into the financial side of the matter.

I do not recommend this doctor: there is no empathy for patients and not enough communication or support. A doctor—especially one caring for women during childbirth—should not behave this way and should be there for her patients.

Associate Professor Hediye Dagdeviren is one of the rare doctors I have met: successful, respectful of her profession, passionate about her work, attentive in monitoring patients, and able to motivate them when necessary. She has knowledge and skill and, most importantly, humanity and humility. I definitely recommend her.

No matter how much I say about my dear doctor, it will never be enough. She is very considerate, attentive, and sincere; she patiently answers questions and often explains what you have not yet had time to ask. When my baby had a problem at night and I could not reach the pediatrician, Dr. Hediye advised me what to do. She supported me during labor, so I was not afraid and gave birth vaginally. I sometimes visit her, and she even remembers my name. I love her very much 🫶🏼

I had been following the work of the esteemed Dr. Shafaq Olgan for a long time at his previous place of employment, but due to my own work schedule, I was not able to get in to see him. Once he moved to Memorial Hospital, I became one of the first patients to make an appointment with him. From day one, I did not expect to meet such a great team. The coordinator Gulhan, the staff at the front desk, our receptionist Derja, nurse Saadet, nurse Deniz, and of course Dr. Safak himself, with his calm, patient and encouraging attitude, all make an incredibly well-coordinated team. Regardless of the outcome of treatment, everyone here goes the extra mile and always supports wholeheartedly. I had a positive outcome on my first try, and I hope everyone who comes here will experience that as well. The only thing that saddens me is that after the positive result, I will no longer be able to continue with this team. In order to be closer to this team, I decided to choose a doctor from Memorial and deliver here. This review got a little long, but there are many more good things to say about Dr. Safak and his IVF work. THANK YOU for everything you have done for us! My husband and I are eternally grateful for the joy you have given us.

Due to carrying thalassemia, we decided to undergo IVF treatment with PGD. We consulted in several centers in Antalya, but in the end we chose Dr. Safak Olgan. From day one, Dr. Safak and his team created an open, honest and sincere dialogue with us. The embryologists, who play a key role in the process, provided us with the information we needed every step of the way. After about five months, we heard the heartbeat of our future baby. Also, I would like to mention that the cost of IVF treatment was reasonable and the process progressed step by step. We are very grateful to Dr. Safak and his team.

I am 36 years old, I have an endometrioma, and I am not married. Before this, I visited many hospitals, but none of them recommended removing the cyst because I don't have children. I was very afraid that time was passing, the pain was increasing, and in the future, if I wanted to become a mother, I would no longer be able to, as an endometrioma can lead to infertility.

One day, on recommendation, I turned to Professor Semra Kahraman and Dr. Fatih Aktoz. They reassured me so much and gave me such detailed and useful information that for the first time I felt hope. Before this, all doctors spoke very pessimistically, and I was sure that I would not be able to have children. It turned out that if I had a spouse, I would have the opportunity to become a mother. But since marriage was not planned in the near future and I did not want to delay the decision for too long, both doctors recommended that I freeze my eggs.

Thus began my journey. Then I continued treatment with Dr. Fatih Aktoz and Dr. Yücel Şahin. I was always pessimistic and almost did not believe in success, but thanks to them, the process went so well that the eggs reached the necessary degree of maturity. On the day of the puncture, I had 9 eggs, and all of them turned out to be mature.

They gave me the most wonderful news and the most wonderful gift in my life. I sincerely thank everyone who participated in this process, from the nurses to the operating room staff. Thank you to each of you! How wonderful that there are such doctors. I wish you further success! 🤗

I have been undergoing IVF treatment at this hospital for two years, and during all this time, I have never managed to see a doctor without waiting at least 30 minutes. If appointments are scheduled here, then patient reception needs to be properly organized. I am writing this review now while waiting: 45 minutes have passed, and I am still waiting.

Two days after the egg retrieval, I was literally shocked by a message that came to my phone from the nursing line. They sent me a list of medications and told me I should take them. These were drugs used to stimulate egg growth during treatment. Since this was not my first attempt, I understood what had happened and did not take these medications.

At the same time, another acquaintance of mine was also undergoing treatment here, and an even more terrible situation happened to her. The doctor called her and informed her that the embryo sent for genetic testing had a positive result. And the next day, he called again and said: “Sorry, I made a mistake, you don’t have any embryos at all.”

And now the question arises: how can so many mistakes happen in this department? If you ask why I am still continuing treatment at this hospital, the answer is one: Semra Kahraman is a wonderful doctor.

I made changes to the review to tell about an incident that happened to me later. After waiting for an hour, I approached the nurses and asked if they were going to keep me waiting. The head nurse Elif literally started screaming and made a scene, stating that it had nothing to do with them and that I should talk to the doctor. She said completely ridiculous things, as if the doctor sets the appointment time :)

Then I entered the doctor’s office, and your nurse, not calming down, followed me and continued to scream. Whatever her professional ethics, she came to scream at a patient right in the doctor’s office. Nurse Gonca tried to calm her down and led her out of the office.

The next day, while I was waiting to have my blood drawn, someone from the department staff said: “Elif, the patient is waiting, you need to take her blood.” And in response, I heard from Elif: “I won’t take it.” How can one treat patients like that? And yet, this very woman was appointed head nurse. I really don’t understand this hospital.

We came to Memorial Şişli Hospital for in vitro fertilization treatment from our city after persistent recommendations from patients who had previously been treated at your hospital. They particularly noted Professor, Doctor Semra Kahraman, her team of doctors, staff from other departments, as well as the hospital's atmosphere, the trust, calmness, and confidence that patients feel here.

Despite our advanced age, we decided to come for treatment. We arrived — and realized that everything we were told was even an understatement. The treatment began. We tell ourselves: it's a pity we didn't know about this hospital sooner.
First of all, with God's permission, and then thanks to the head of our team, who has a special approach and her own school, Professor, Doctor Semra Kahraman, as well as the scientific knowledge and experience of her team's doctors and the capabilities of our hospital, we believe that we will achieve a favorable treatment outcome.

Semra Hodja is a very good doctor in her field. She took the time to review the test results with us and her assistant, and clearly explained what needed to be done next.
If you have many doubts and uncertainties, I advise you to contact her. I came to Istanbul just for this doctor.
