I would like to thank Dr. Bulent Baran not only as a physician, but also as a person. He supported my daughter at every stage of treatment. She is still under his observation and has already made great progress thanks to his help.

I saw how he fought for a patient until the very last moments of life and how deeply he experienced that situation. Such an attitude is impossible to forget. A truly rare person and a real doctor. I wish him health and many long years of life.

Assoc. Prof. Bulent Baran is a leading gastroenterologist, hepatologist and endoscopist at Koç University Hospital in Istanbul, and Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Koç University School of Medicine. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience.
He graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Istanbul University), completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Uludağ University, and his fellowship in Gastroenterohepatology and advanced ERCP training at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He has completed international advanced endoscopy programs: ESGE Advanced Endoscopy (Italy, Modules I and II), ESDO (Brussels), Peter B. Cotton Fellowship (MUSC, Charleston), Berenson International Scholarship (Beth Israel Deaconess, Harvard Medical School), as well as fellowships at UTHealth (Houston) and Daegu Catholic University (South Korea).
Areas of interest: ERCP, diagnostic and therapeutic endosonography (EUS), advanced EMR/ESD, balloon enteroscopy, GI stenting, pancreatic cystic neoplasms, chronic viral hepatitis (HBV/HCV/HDV), inflammatory bowel diseases, primary biliary cholangitis.
