Adnan Isgor is one of the most experienced Turkish endocrine surgeons, professor of general surgery. He works at Memorial Şişli Hospital in Istanbul.
His main specialization is endocrine surgery — operations on the thyroid gland (including thyroid cancer), parathyroid glands, and adrenal glands. In addition, he is involved in breast surgery, including for breast cancer, and hernia surgery.
During his career, he has performed more than 5,000 surgical operations. This is a serious sample, especially in such delicate areas as thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
He has held a number of leading academic and organizational roles in Turkish surgery: from 1991 to 2004 — head of the Department of General Surgery at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital; from 2012 to 2016 — head of the Department of General Surgery at Bahçeşehir University. He was president of the Endocrine Surgery Foundation in 2010–2012.
He is also a member of leading international surgical associations: American College of Surgeons, International Surgical Society, International Association of Endocrine Surgery, Breast Surgery International. He has published more than 200 scientific articles and co-edited four books on surgery.
