After the lens implantation surgery I feel severe burning in my eyes, watering and glare that prevent me from seeing clearly. Despite good results on the devices, in everyday life I see poorly, especially up close and at night.

At follow-up examinations they say that ‘everything is perfect’, but my real sensations are a deterioration of vision. I did not receive clear explanations or a solution to the problem. Very disappointed with the result of the surgery.

An experience with both positive and negative moments during my father’s hospitalization.

The positive: the intestine was successfully operated on using a minimally invasive method; beforehand the doctors jointly reviewed the test results and did not rush the decision. The nurses and doctors were friendly.

The negative: noisy rooms and doors; after the surgery a full dinner was brought by mistake when only liquids were allowed, and medications that had already been discontinued were administered twice.

The gallbladder was also removed without warning, which seemed excessive to us, although in conventional medicine this is a common procedure.

I had to face breast cancer, and I was discouraged, knowing the methods and success of treatment in Ukraine. But a friend of mine said that they help people with a similar diagnosis abroad. I myself am not very good at searching on the Internet, so I asked my daughter to do it, who, after talking to several foreign clinics, chose Kiron Madrid. I don’t need a visa, we quickly bought tickets and I went to the clinic. In Madrid itself, I was met by the local coordinator, and at the clinic I was given an interpreter who was present during the communication with the doctors. The first few days were spent on an examination that confirmed the diagnosis, after which I was prescribed an operation to remove the tumor. I was scared, but the staff helped me keep my spirits up. The operation itself went well, fortunately no metastases were found and I did not need additional treatment. Now I’m home and feeling great. I will go for a second check-up with a local doctor soon. We thank the doctors of the Madrid clinic for helping me cope with such a terrible diagnosis. I hope the problem doesn’t come back again!

From a professional standpoint everything is fine, but the attitude toward the patient in the pediatric urology department is extremely unsatisfactory.

Because of the quarantine situation and the snowfall in Madrid, I discovered after the consultation that I had not been given a prescription for the medication. After several days of unsuccessful calls, I was told I had to come to the hospital in person on Wednesday evening.

They refused to send the prescription by email or any other means. After a repeat visit (I live on the other side of Madrid), I was again told to make an appointment.

Very disappointed with this attitude, especially considering that the mistake was not on my side.

What modern methods in neurosurgery are used at Quiron Salud Clinic?

Neurosurgery in Quiron Salud Clinic On the territory of Quiron Salud Clinic, the Clavel Institute of Neuroscience operates, whose doctors specialize in modern surgical methods for treating the following diseases:

Some operations are performed in a robotic way, which allows doctors to control the accuracy of movements to avoid injury to healthy tissues. Among the modern techniques:

Neuroendoscopy. The intervention is carried out using an endoscope, at the end of which a small camera is fixed. It displays the entire process of the operation on the monitor. This allows neurosurgeons to accurately remove the tumor in the most inaccessible places in the brain and not affect the vital areas.
Neuronavigation. This is a system that controls the course of the procedure and informs the doctor about the safest path to the brain in order to avoid traumatizing anatomically important areas.
Radiosurgical treatment of inoperable brain tumors using Gamma Knife or Cyber Knife. Among the advantages are the exact impact on the tumor, the absence of incisions, and the risk of infection during the intervention, rapid recovery.
Percutaneous laser disc decompression for the herniated disc. The operation does not involve incisions. During the procedure, the doctor introduces a laser with a given intensity into the intervertebral space, which causes the destruction of the disc herniation.
Removal of the intervertebral hernia by “lumbar anterior approach” (ADR). According to the technology, all manipulations on the spine are carried out through the abdominal cavity. This technique was developed and patented in 2008 by Dr. Pablo Clavel, the leading neurosurgeon Quiron. This is a minimally invasive intervention to replace the intervertebral disc with an artificial implant, which reduces the recovery period compared to traditional operations.
Operations on the spine using the method of lateral lumbar interbody fusion (XLIF). This technique was developed by neurosurgeons Quiron Salud, led by Francesco Cayazzo. The procedure is performed by a transesophageal retroperitoneal approach, which is ideal for manipulations on the entire lumbar spine up to the 5th lumbar spine.
Deep brain stimulation (DBS). The procedure is successfully used for the surgical treatment of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and depressive disorders. It is aimed at suppressing the activity of brain regions responsible for the manifestation of symptoms of the disease. During the intervention, the surgeon implants electrodes in certain areas of the brain, which regulate brain dysfunctions using high-frequency stimulation of subcortical structures. The electrodes remain functional in the patient’s body for 3 to 5 years, after which they can be replaced with new ones. Doctors of Quiron perform the DBS procedure through 3 thin punctures in the skull bone (up to 1 cm) under the control of computer navigation. This allows to accurately insert and install electrodes without affecting healthy tissues and functional areas of the brain.
