This is already the third hospitalization of a member of our family at Emsey Hospital. We received exceptional medical care from Dr. Mukait Gur. He is a highly qualified specialist with excellent communication skills, modesty and compassion.
We keep returning to this hospital because of its values and high level of patient care.
As a small piece of advice to the nurses and other patient-care staff, I would like to say: don’t forget to smile 😃😊. A smile is understood in all cultures and needs no translation. Care begins with human contact, unconditional respect and recognition of another person’s worth. If anything could pull Emsey Hospital down, it is the lack of genuine smiles.
And also, unfortunately, the food is not tasty and does not match the high standard of the hospital itself.

Today we brought my grandmother to this hospital for a PET examination. We registered at 11:00, but she was only admitted for the procedure at around 14:15. That is, we had to wait more than three hours.
Throughout the process we were kept informed, but the waiting time was very long. The hospital’s workload was visible to the naked eye, but it seems there is not enough staff and equipment for such a flow of patients, which leads to such a long wait.
It was especially hard for an elderly person to wait so long. Despite the fact that this is a private hospital, the experience turned out to be below our expectations. I believe it is necessary to improve planning and resource management to account for such a load.

Many years ago my father had a stent placed at Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi. Recently, due to health problems, he needed another heart examination. We learned that his doctor now works at Emsey Hospital, and that is how our journey began. After the examination it was decided to perform an angiography, but the vessels could not be opened, so it was urgently decided to perform bypass surgery.
At this stage we would like to thank the operating surgeon Hüseyin Gemalmaz, who, thanks to his experience and trustworthy approach, successfully carried out the entire process. Thanks to the operation he performed, my father took an important step toward recovery.
I would especially like to express sincere gratitude to Burak Uysal, who was by our side from the very beginning, recommended the hospital, supported us at every stage and closely monitored the course of treatment. His help was very valuable to us.

I chose Emsey Hospital for upper blepharoplasty and canthopexy with Dr. Kayhan Zeytin, and today I can say that I am extremely satisfied both with my experience and with the result, which I continue to observe.
Dr. Zeytin impressed me with his professionalism and with how clearly he explains every stage of the treatment. He inspires confidence and calm and pays great attention to understanding the patient’s real wishes.
The operation was performed very precisely, but I want to emphasize an important point for those considering such a procedure: this is facial surgery, and recovery takes time. Healing does not happen instantly, and you should not rush. In my case, residual swelling persisted for a long time, and I only started wearing makeup three months later. This is completely normal: everyone has their own recovery timeline, and it should be accepted calmly.
Scars are present, as after any similar operation, but they become less and less noticeable month by month. They do not disappear within a few weeks, and it is important to understand that at least six months are needed for an objective assessment of the result after facial surgery.
I am very pleased with how harmonious, natural and balanced my gaze is becoming. A great advantage is Dr. Zeytin’s postoperative follow-up: he always answers questions, monitors the patient and helps dispel any doubts. For me this was a decisive factor.
If in the future I decide to have any other aesthetic facial surgery, I will turn to him again without hesitation. I recommend him to everyone who wants a natural and elegant result and is ready to patiently wait for full recovery.

Last month I had a cesarean section under spinal anesthesia at Emsey Hospital. Fortunately, our doctor discharged us without any complications.
I especially want to thank the anesthesiologist Hamiet Ozcan — a true hero of such operations, who usually remains unnoticed. She was very attentive and considerate, which helped me feel calm before the operation. After the surgery she also came to check on me and provide the necessary information.
The operating room had friendly staff who understood my stress before and after surgery and tried to support me with conversation. I would like to thank them too.
However, the breastfeeding consultants did not seem attentive enough to me. When I asked for help with breastfeeding, one of them gave very brief recommendations and tried to steer me toward formula feeding. The other was rather curt. Thanks to our own experience and efforts, we managed to get through this stage without using formula.

I went to the dermatology department. I really did not like the doctor’s behavior. He doesn’t listen to the patient’s problem. As soon as I opened my mouth, unfortunately, he immediately started talking to me in an irritated manner.

Last week my mother had surgery to remove her gallbladder. We were told to come for a follow-up examination a week later. However, now, since the doctor is on vacation, the appointment is being postponed for another 2–3 days.
In addition, they require a separate payment for the consultation. So they charge 50,000 for the surgery and then fail to provide post-operative follow-up. What kind of trick and attitude toward patients is this?

I came in for a prostate appointment. They did a blood test and a urine test, took 1,500 lira and told me there was nothing wrong with me, then sent me home.
I didn’t even see the doctor I had made the appointment with. Another doctor simply said there was nothing wrong with me, and that was the end of it. But there really is a problem.

I came from abroad and went through a comprehensive check-up program. I came by car, but the hospital’s proximity to Sabiha Gokcen Airport is an advantage for those who arrive by plane.
The examination process began early in the morning according to schedule and without waiting. I was met by Ms. Ebru, who accompanied me throughout the examination. I am writing my observations both for the benefit of the hospital management and so that patients can receive better service.
What concerned me most was that some doctors stated that the examination was not part of the check-up program and effectively conducted a ‘consultation’, merely reviewing test results and asking about the patient’s complaints, without a full physical examination.
The hospital building: the hospital is beautiful and well-kept, but there are not enough elevators. Entry to the parking lot is by automatic license plate recognition, but the system does not recognize foreign plates. You have to get out of the car, walk 15–20 meters and ask security for help. The cafeteria is quite good, although prices are above average. To connect to Wi-Fi you need a Turkish phone number, since the system cannot send messages to foreign numbers.
The staff are polite and trained, although there were exceptions without smiles or friendliness.
Laboratory and diagnostic services: the staff do their job well and without problems. However, I noticed an employee who was reluctant to change the disposable paper sheet on the couch. In addition, the size of these sheets does not fully cover the couch.
Patient services — Ms. Ebru: excellent. Cardiology: very attentive, polite and explain everything in detail. Pulmonology, Dr. M. Omer: exceptionally attentive, responsible, polite and explains information in detail. Urology: good. Internal medicine: excellent. Neurosurgery: unsatisfactory. Dentistry: good.

Only the best can be said about Emsey Hospital, its staff and all its specialists.
I came here with my four-year-old daughter, who was in critical condition due to hidden bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
We came from Tbilisi, where the doctors could not make a final diagnosis and even suspected stage three cancer. Here we spent more than ten days undergoing the necessary examinations and surgery.
I would like to separately note the excellent equipment and the high level of patient care. Some of the studies performed in Georgia were not confirmed here.
To prevent external infections, strict discipline is observed. To enter a patient’s room, you must go through special disinfection procedures.
The nurses and support staff deserve special gratitude. If at home my daughter cried at the sight of nurses, here it was the opposite — she came to love them, played with them and became their little friend.
The rooms resemble a five-star hotel: shower, furniture, comfortable accommodation, safe. Cleaning is done several times a day. Three meals a day, selected by a dietitian, are provided for the patient and companion. In our case it was Gokce Bonce Didem Gunday, to whom we are very grateful.
I would especially like to thank the pediatric surgeon Professor Mevlit Korkmaz for the excellently performed operation, high professionalism and the ability to explain complex medical matters in simple language.
I also thank the pediatrician Professor Birol Baytan for attentive monitoring, accurate diagnosis and the detection of hidden threats to my daughter’s health.
Many thanks to the entire nursing team led by Sheyma Kopan, as well as Fevziye Tepeliler, Buket Ozturk, Kadir Akgul, Melike Erol, Feyza Tarnikulu, Ezra Bayri, Fatma Yilmaz, Funda Bozgogan and Bilge hanim.

How is infertility treated in Emsey?
- Women with no fallopian tubes, adhesions in the appendages, endometriosis, infertility of unknown etiology, and condition after treatment for cancer. In the latter case, previously prepared cryopreserved eggs or ovarian tissues are used.
- Men with impaired spermatogenesis (oligospermia, obstructive azoospermia), and unexplained infertility.
Some couples are unable to conceive a child even with normal test results and need psychological support before IVF. Emsey also provides this type of assistance from professionals such as psychologists and psychotherapists.
The IVF Center in Emsey accepts for treatment patients with the most difficult cases: both primary and after unsuccessful IVF attempts at the place of residence and in other countries. Unused eggs and/or embryos are cryopreserved. They are stored for 3-5 years for use, if necessary, in the next IVF attempts.
At the IVF Center, doctors apply a personalized approach to each patient and ensure the birth of healthy children.
The center is headed by a unique specialist in the field of reproductive technologies, Dr. Nesrin Baştuğ. The doctor has over 25 years of experience. He is an authority in the international medical community. In the treatment of infertility, he uses the latest stimulation protocols, high-tech laboratory equipment for pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), assisted hatching (AH), and other procedures. In some cases, Dr. Bastug transfers the embryo directly into the fallopian tube using laparoscopy (GIFT or ZIFT procedure).
The pregnancy rate at Emsey for patients under 35 is over 60%, over 40 is over 40%. The cost of IVF is about $5,000.
What kind of operation for intervertebral hernia can be arranged in Emsey?
The doctor removes the hernia through a 5 mm incision using an endoscope (a device with a video camera and an instrument).
This is a minimally invasive one-day surgery.
