The first clinic in Başkent began its work as an Organ Transplantation and Burn Treatment Center in 1982 under the guidance of a world-class transplantologist, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal. The founder and president of the Turkish Transplant Society, Haberal was the first in the country to perform a kidney transplantation from a living donor, a liver transplantation from a deceased donor, and segmental liver transplantation to a child from a living adult donor.

Very poor hospital. You pay for the consultation, but the doctor does almost nothing, sometimes just listens with a stethoscope. They don’t do an ultrasound; additional examinations are paid for and booked separately. Very expensive, the service is worse than a public hospital. I do not recommend it.

I used their laboratory for a blood test and was pleased with the organization. Ms. Beyza was exceptional during the blood draw — I felt nothing at all. Mr. Recep was very friendly and reassuring. The girls at the laboratory reception were attentive and processed all the paperwork professionally. The results were ready in about 2 hours, as promised. Overall, the process went very smoothly, and I really appreciated it.

I’m sorry to say this, but the doctors in the dental department have serious communication problems. You literally have to drag information out of them. As for which recommendations to follow after the procedure performed on me, I had to search for the information online myself, and only that way did I find out everything — that is how absent the feedback is. The doctors are very gloomy and unwelcoming.
I observed this problem with three different doctors. How well their work was done and how long the result will last, only time will tell.

Dear management of Başkent University Istanbul Hospital, my name is Leila, and I am writing this letter of thanks and a review for nurse Gülfeda Akyol, who works on the 2nd floor (Oymacı Sk. No:7 Kat 2). I met her after my surgery (abdominoplasty and liposuction by Dr. Raza Cagri Sade). I needed to stay in the hospital for 4 nights. Among all the staff, she showed the utmost care, support and kindness, helping me through severe pain, even in the most difficult moments. Despite the language barrier (I am from Australia), she showed respect and professionalism.
During my stay there were also negative situations: some staff were rude, and one doctor refused to come and examine me, telling me to wait until morning. Despite this, I am grateful to the individual nurses and recommend the hospital thanks to people like Gülfeda and Kobra.

The Istanbul hospital is not sufficiently organized as an institution. The doctors are good and attentive, but the staff is really very unprofessional. I visited the immunology and rheumatology departments, as well as the laboratory, and in all cases I encountered problems. The staff are inattentive, insufficiently competent, with an ‘I don’t care’ attitude and arrogant behavior, which makes the hospital resemble a public one.
Since I have used private medical institutions all my life, I have something to compare it with. This is the worst private hospital I have ever visited. I had never had conflicts at private clinics before, but here they happened almost everywhere.
I have no complaints about the doctors, I am satisfied with them.
