Surgeons perform the intervention through a small incision on the right side without opening the chest. Most patients manage to keep their own valve, including aortic valve repair.
- 1,000 TAVIs are performed annually at the center (which is 2-3 times more than in other German clinics), and other innovative transcatheter procedures are also performed, including reconstruction of the mitral (MitraClip) and tricuspid (TriClip) valves, the closing of the atrial appendage in case of atrial fibrillation and closure of an atrial septal defect.
- In most cases, cardiac surgeons perform coronary artery bypass grafting without a heart-lung machine. This improves the portability of operations and reduces recovery time.
The preferred treatment for cardiac arrhythmias is catheter ablation, the destruction of arrhythmogenic tissue in the heart by means of catheterization. Every year doctors perform 2,000 of these procedures.
The average hospitalization time is 7-8 days. According to the clinic, this is less than on average in Germany.

The choice of prostheses and planning of the operation based on CT and MRI of the joint is carried out by doctors individually, using a computer program.
