Dr. Rajan M Shah is one of the most renowned neurosurgeons in Mumbai (India). He is currently the Director and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital and a consultant at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.
Over more than three decades of practice, he has performed over 8,000 brain tumor operations — one of the highest figures in the country. He has also performed over 450 operations for cerebral aneurysms and more than 100 operations for arteriovenous malformations.
After his Indian education, he completed 3 years of training at Beaumont Hospital (Dublin, Ireland), fellowship programs at Mount Sinai (New York), and at Japanese universities (Fujita, Shinshu) in skull base surgery and neurovascular surgery.
Former President of the Bombay Neurology Association. Member of the Neurological Society of India, the American Neurology Association, and other societies.

Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital is one of the oldest and largest private multidisciplinary hospitals in Mumbai, part of the Max Healthcare network. It has international service standards and NABH accreditation.
For patients with neurosurgical conditions, the key feature is its own Center for Neurosciences with divisions: functional neurosurgery, neuroendoscopy, and cranioplasty. A new specialized building with modern operating rooms has been opened.
The center’s strengths are brain tumor surgery (over 8,000 operations led by Dr. Rajan Shah), aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation surgery, minimally invasive spine neurosurgery, and treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
