Nuri Alper Sahbaz is a Turkish surgeon, professor, and specialist in endocrine surgery. He works at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental in Istanbul. His main area is surgery of the thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, and neuroendocrine tumors.
He has one of the rarest certifications in endocrine surgery in Turkey — he is among the top five surgeons in the country with full European Board of Endocrine Surgery qualification in all four areas of endocrine surgery. This means he has European-exam-confirmed expertise not only in the thyroid gland (which is more common), but also in adrenal surgery and neuroendocrine tumors.
He has undergone serious international training: in 2003–2006 he worked at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Medical School in Houston (USA), successfully passed the USMLE exams, and received the ECFMG Certificate — the right to practice medicine in the USA. Later, in 2015, he received a university diploma in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery from the University of Strasbourg.
To date, he has performed more than 2,000 operations in endocrine surgery. In parallel, he is engaged in oncoplastic breast surgery — a field in which the surgeon combines tumor removal and preservation of breast aesthetics, which is important in breast cancer. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy of the gastrointestinal tract — this is more than 10 years of experience with such technologies. He has his own scientific profile with more than 100 publications.
According to patient reviews, he is an attentive, polite, and experienced surgeon with successful results in thyroid surgery, gallbladder surgery, and hernias.
For a patient with endocrine pathology (thyroid cancer, parathyroid adenomas, adrenal tumors) or breast cancer, this is one of the well-founded choices in a private clinic in Istanbul.
General surgery; narrow specialization — endocrine surgery (thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, neuroendocrine tumors); laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery; diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy.
Clinical focuses:

Hisar Intercontinental is a private multidisciplinary clinic on the Asian side of Istanbul. For a patient with endocrine diseases (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, neuroendocrine tumors), this is a practical choice: the clinic is equipped for the full cycle of diagnosis and treatment, including a hormonal laboratory, thyroid ultrasound with fine-needle biopsy, computed and magnetic resonance tomography, and nuclear medicine. A special feature is the ability to perform operations using modern techniques: laparoscopic and robotic adrenal surgery, endoscopic thyroidectomy, intraoperative neuromonitoring of the laryngeal nerves to preserve the voice during thyroid operations, and rapid intraoperative parathyroid hormone determination during parathyroid operations. The clinic also has an oncology department, which is important for patients with thyroid cancer (radioactive iodine after surgery), breast cancer, and adrenal tumors.
