Coronary artery disease, coronary artery bypass grafting

We had coronary artery bypass grafting performed on our father at Medanta Gurugram Hospital, and overall the experience was excellent.
The staff of ICU-1, ICU-2 and the 8th-floor wards deserve special thanks — they were very caring, polite and attentive throughout the treatment.
Special thanks to Ms. Supriya from the front desk, who handled the entire admission process very professionally and calmly, explaining each step in detail.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Naresh Trehan and his outstanding surgical team — one of the best cardiac surgeons in India. We also thank Dr. Tushar for his support, explanations and the confidence he gave us.
During daily rounds the doctors carefully monitored the patient's condition, explained everything in detail and addressed any questions. At discharge one of the senior doctors even gave a warm handshake — it was very touching.
Overall, Medanta left us with a very positive impression. We recommend it for cardiac treatment.

The treatment by Dr. Naresh Trehan and his team is excellent, and our family is fully satisfied with the outcome.
However, the organization of the hospital's work is very slow. Even after paying a large sum, the service process leaves much to be desired.

A very competent team of doctors: cardiologist Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. R.R. Kasliwal, Dr. Jasjeet Singh Wasir (diabetes and endocrinology), Dr. Vikas Deswal (internal medicine).
I would also like to mention the very dedicated nurses, especially in the vaccination room on the 9th floor — nurse Sushma (27242) was always helpful, even during late hours.
Thanks to the entire Medanta team for their professionalism and care.

Medanta Hospital is undoubtedly one of the leading medical institutions in the country. The quality of treatment and the level of medical expertise are truly impressive. The doctors and staff are generally well trained and attentive, and the infrastructure is world-class.
However, my experience was not entirely positive. Despite the high standard of the hospital, we had a serious organizational issue: the ECG and ECHO results were lost and had to be searched for after numerous requests. For an institution of this level this is unacceptable and stressful for patients.
Another point — the consultation with the senior specialist was conducted by a brief video call, after which the doctor quickly disconnected, and the examination was carried out by another specialist. This creates the impression of a formal attitude.
Overall, the level of medicine is high, but better organization and more attentive treatment of patients is needed, especially from senior specialists.

Very disappointed with the service. The hospital is too crowded; waiting for an appointment scheduled for 9 a.m. dragged on until 1 p.m.
The experience in the cardiology department with Dr. Naresh Trehan was particularly bad. We came for a follow-up consultation for my father. At the appointed time we were told that the doctor was in the operating room, but later we realized this was a standard answer and he was not always even at the hospital.
When we finally saw the doctor, he ordered tests that another doctor could have arranged in advance. This happened several times. After all the examinations we again had to wait for several hours.
The hardest part — elderly parents had to sit hungry to avoid missing the appointment, constantly hearing "five more minutes". The staff in the department was rude, and communication with the front-desk employee was humiliating and inappropriate.
The lifts in the outpatient clinic are also overcrowded, like a packed bus.
The only positive moment was the neurology department: the doctors there were attentive and calmly answered all questions.

Mitral valve replacement

My father recently underwent mitral valve replacement surgery at Medanta Gurugram Hospital, and my experience was extremely positive. From the very beginning I was confident that my father was in safe hands. The hospital's modern equipment and the professionalism of the staff were evident throughout the treatment.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Naresh Trehan and Dr. Nitish Kumar Rajput — leading cardiac surgeons. Their experience and skill are truly impressive, and I felt at ease knowing my father was under the care of one of India's best surgeons. The operation was successful, and the postoperative care was attentive and considerate.
I would especially like to mention dietitian Dr. Vandana Solanki, whose recommendations were very helpful in recovery. She drew up an individual meal plan and was always available for consultations.
Overall, my experience at Medanta exceeded my expectations. I recommend the hospital to anyone in need of mitral valve surgery.

Open heart surgery, aortic valve replacement and bypass

An excellent hospital with the best medical equipment, infrastructure and treatment. We had a wonderful experience. My father-in-law underwent open heart surgery — aortic valve replacement and two bypass grafts. The operation was performed by Dr. Naresh Trehan's team.
Rating — 10/10 across all parameters.
However, the cost of staying in the hospital is quite high, and it would be good if the management slightly reduced the prices of the rooms, as they are comparable to VIP hotel rates.

Professor Naresh Trehan is one of the most renowned cardiothoracic surgeons in India, founder and chairman of Medanta Heart Institute in Gurugram. He has more than 50 years of experience.

He received his medical education in India and completed many years of training in the United States. From 1971 to 1988 he worked as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the New York University Medical Center.

In 1988 he founded Escorts Heart Institute in New Delhi, and in 2009 — the largest medical complex Medanta — The Medicity.
