My grandfather, Shiv Kumar, was treated here.
During his treatment, numerous procedures and operations were proposed and performed.
What was particularly alarming is that my grandfather himself told us he heard discussions about repeated and possibly unnecessary operations one after another.
This raised serious doubts in us about the transparency of treatment, medical ethics, and whether the patient's interests truly came first.
We were never given clear, detailed and convincing explanations as to why so many interventions were required.
Our concerns were not properly addressed, and the entire process seemed rushed and indifferent.
The emotional and psychological consequences for our family were very severe and long-lasting.

Please do not automatically agree to repeated procedures.
Get multiple independent opinions, demand written explanations and ask questions about every proposed surgery.
Do not let pressure influence medical decisions.

Dr. Jay Relan is a pediatric cardiologist specializing in the treatment of congenital heart defects in newborns and children. He works at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.
