Dr. Balbir Singh is one of the most distinguished cardiologists in India. He holds the position of Chairman of Cardiac Sciences at the Max Healthcare network and oversees cardiology across all clinics of the network nationwide. His operating base is Max Super Speciality Hospital in the Saket district of New Delhi.
His main distinction is being a pioneer of electrophysiology and interventional treatment methods in India. Over his 34+ year career, he has introduced many new catheter intervention techniques: radiofrequency ablation of arrhythmias, coronary angioplasty, transcatheter heart valve procedures (TAVI, MitraClip), and implantation of devices for heart failure treatment.
In 2007, at just 42 years old, he was awarded the Padma Shri — India’s 4th highest civilian honor, which is rarely given to practicing physicians. This represents national recognition of his contribution to the development of medicine.
His education comes from India’s top public medical institutions: MBBS and MD at Maulana Azad Medical College, DM in cardiology at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital. He served as professor at AIIMS Delhi for 4 years. From 2009 to 2019 he was Chairman of Cardiology at Medanta-The Medicity. He joined Max Healthcare in November 2019.
Among international honors are Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Best Operator Award at the India Live conference, Golden Hand Award at AICT in Singapore (2012), and Best Late-Breaking Trial at APHRS.
He actively publishes in the Indian Electrophysiology Journal and other cardiology publications. Renowned for his contribution to the development of Indian electrophysiology. He serves as a mentor: young cardiologists train under him through the DNB program.

Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket is the flagship of the Max Healthcare network, opened in 2006. A multidisciplinary medical complex of two interconnected buildings (Max Smart and Max Saket) with a total capacity of more than 500 beds.
The cardiology department at Max Saket is one of the most developed in Northern India: several catheterization laboratories, a dedicated electrophysiology lab, operating rooms for open heart surgery.
For patients with arrhythmias (AF, VT, Brugada syndrome, pre-excitation syndromes) it is one of the best choices in India: a team of electrophysiologists led by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Balbir Singh, the latest 3D cardiac mapping technology. NABH and NABL accreditations.
