Description
The hospital is equipped with 3 special treatment rooms:
- 2 rooms for irradiation in the supine position;
- 1 room in which the patient undergoes the process of irradiation of brain tumors while sitting.
The center in Chennai is equipped with unique medical and diagnostic equipment. For example, the C230 Cyclotron and the Proteus Plus system. These are key installations for carrying out proton therapy. Thanks to these devices, high-precision irradiation of the affected area is provided. In this case, most of the radiation is directed to the center of the tumor and does not affect neighboring tissues.
The medical complex is designed for 150 beds. Annually it can accept 1,000 patients from all over the world. Accommodation of patients from other countries is organized in hotels and apartments near the medical center.

I had my proton treatment here at Apollo Proton Cancer Center in Chennai, India, I am from the Philippines but currently working in Dubai, UAE. We were met from the airport by Mr. Leggings who brought us here safely. The security guards in the lobby, the International Patient Services staff, the housekeepers from all floors of the hospital, the nurses and the technicians in the proton area are very kind and caring, they made me feel comfortable while I was waiting for my treatment. The nurses on the ward are always available and most nurses are very pleasant. They found time to talk to me and support me. The infection control nurse is also considerate, reminding me to wear a mask for protection. Nutritionist and ENT doctor Joseph are professionals. Words are not enough to thank my doctors for making me feel loved and important. Dr. Sapna, Dr. Nagar, Dr. Patrick and Dr. Sujith are such a great team of experts. I would like to give a special thanks to the doctor who planned my proton treatment, but I forget his name. I am very grateful to all the staff at the Apollo Proton Therapy Center.
