



Professor Omur Gokmen Sevindik — a hematologist focused on the treatment of blood disorders, especially multiple myeloma and other plasma cell diseases. After graduating from the English-language program at Hacettepe Medical School in 2005, he completed his residency in internal medicine and then a subspecialty fellowship in hematology at Dokuz Eylül University (Izmir).
In 2014 he completed a clinical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic (USA) under the world’s leading specialists in multiple myeloma, Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, and amyloidosis — and this field has since become his key focus.
Today Professor Sevindik heads the Hematology Department at Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital and at the same time serves as Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine / Hematology of Demiroglu Bilim University.
In his research work he has been principal or co-investigator in more than 30 phase 1–3 clinical trials, has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 200 conference presentations. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the European Hematology Association (EHA), ASCO, and the Turkish Society of Hematology (TSH), where he previously chaired the scientific subcommittee on multiple myeloma.

Main areas of specialization:

Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital — the flagship of the Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals network, one of the oldest private medical groups in Turkey (founded in 1989 under the auspices of the Turkish Society of Cardiology).
The hospital is JACIE-accredited and works closely with Demiroglu Bilim University.
For patients with blood disorders, the Hematology Center and Bone Marrow Transplantation Center is of key importance, with its own transplantation program from related, unrelated, and haploidentical donors.
The Hematology Department, under the leadership of Professor Sevindik, focuses on the comprehensive treatment of multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and other plasma cell diseases; the treatment of acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndromes; and participation in international phase 1–3 clinical trials — giving patients access to modern targeted and immunotherapy drugs.
Florence Nightingale is one of the 8 project partners of the Turkish Society of Hematology.
