Pallas Clinic is an integrative oncology center that treats cancer in adult patients using innovative therapies. This treatment effectively complements surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapy. It is available only in some clinics in Europe. Oncologists of the clinic can apply it as a separate method of cancer treatment.
Pallas Clinic performs:
At Pallas Clinic, rehabilitation is available for patients who have already received or are receiving anti-cancer treatment. Doctors boost the patient's immunity and improve his condition by injecting complex mixtures of vitamins and minerals intravenously.
Virotherapy of tumors is a scientifically proven biological method of treating cancer with oncolytic (destroying malignant cells) viruses. Viruses not only destroy cancer cells but also activate the patient's own immune system. Virotherapy is recognized as an effective and safe method of cancer treatment. Three drugs based on oncolytic viruses have already been developed and used in the world. The first one was developed in Latvia. Treatment with this drug has been carried out at Pallas Clinic since 2008.
Benefits of virotherapy for patients at this center:
During the course of treatment, the patient's immune status is monitored using research in a high-tech laboratory.
Virotherapy is used in the following types of oncology:
Virotherapy is indicated after radical surgery in order to prevent metastases and relapses. It is also effective in the intervals between courses of radiation and chemotherapy.
Cellular cancer immunotherapy is carried out using two types of cells: CIK (cytokine-induced killer) and DC (dendritic cell). A small amount of lymphocytes/monocytes are taken from the patient, they are processed in the laboratory and a clone of immune cells is grown that destroys cancer cells. CIK- and DC- therapy in combination with chemotherapy increases life expectancy and reduces the side effects of standard treatment options for many types of cancer.
Pallas Clinic offers all patients with cancer, as well as all those who care about their health, to check the state of immunity with a series of immunological tests (blood and urine tests). The package includes not only laboratory tests but also a consultation with an oncologist and an immunologist, who, based on the results, develop a plan for the treatment or prevention of oncological diseases. The package also includes an airport - Pallas Clinic transfer. The cost of this package is from €370.
Pallas Clinic offers comfortable rooms and quality food to foreign patients. An interpreter-coordinator is assigned to each patient.

This is a type of biotherapy, the safest direction for the body in the treatment of cancer. Its essence is that a certain type of virus (natural or modified one in the laboratory) is introduced into the body. Scientists have noticed that cancer cells do not produce enough interferon, a protein that fights infections at the cellular level. Therefore, viruses can multiply without interference in cancer cells, while healthy ones are able to resist them. Due to its unique characteristics, the oncolytic virus can identify cancer cells. A cancer cell infected with a virus starts the process of oncolysis, the destruction of the tumor cell, and the entire tumor as a whole.
Virotherapy has shown its effectiveness at various stages of treatment, in combination with surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
Initially, the method was used in the treatment of melanoma. Then it showed good results in the treatment of cancer of the respiratory system, urinary tract, digestive organs, and kidneys. Every day the scope of virotherapy is expanding, new types of drugs based on live viruses appear. Virotherapy is of particular value in the treatment of aggressive types of cancer (eg melanoma).
With localized tumors, the drug is injected into the cancerous tumor, if the tumors are multiple or hard to reach, the drug is administered intravenously. Sometimes subcutaneous or intracavitary administration of the drug is used. Usually, treatment is divided into several stages, after the end of each of them, an assessment of effectiveness is carried out. The doctor can conclude how effective the treatment is after the patient takes a blood test.
Virotherapy can be used as the main method, in some cases doctors recommend it to be carried out in the intervals between chemotherapy or radiotherapy. After surgery, virotherapy helps to destroy residual cancer cells and prolong remission.
The duration of the course of treatment depends on the type of cancer and the stage of the disease.
As a rule, severe side effects are not observed. The most common is the flu-like syndrome that occurs after vaccination: chills, malaise, headache, fever, and myalgia. There may be discomfort at the injection site. These effects go away on their own and do not require medical attention. In some cases, hematological side effects may occur: anemia, swollen lymph nodes, and so on. They require medical attention.
