A year has passed, more precisely 13 months and 1 week since I had an operation to remove the prostate for prostate cancer in Germany. Only now I can say that it was the right choice. And then the diagnosis of prostate cancer sounded like a sentence – “prostate cancer, stage 1, Glisson score 3 + 3 = 6.”
Treatment of prostate cancer took place at the Prostate Center in Dortmund. My doctor and performer of the operation was Prof. Michael Truss, a well-known German specialist in the prostate. The operation was carried out with the help of the da Vinci Robot.
Everything that was promised to me by the clinic was fulfilled. The length of stay in the clinic was 10 days. He lived in a 2-bed ward together with a compatriot who had come from Novosibirsk for the same operation. All translation issues were resolved at any time of the day or night. Everything was done on time, promptly and as time has shown – efficiently and without consequences.
At the age of 59 I am actively involved in sports, my potency satisfies me. Urinary incontinence, which we all feared so much, disappeared 2 weeks after the operation (thanks to the physiotherapist at the clinic, he showed me the exercises to train the pelvic muscles).
