About clinic

Memorial Ataşehir Hospital opened in 2010 on the Asian side of Istanbul. The 22,000-square-meter building has 143 inpatient beds, 99 outpatient rooms, and 7 modern operating theaters. Each year, approximately 1.6 million patients from 92 countries receive treatment here.

The main specialties of Memorial Ataşehir include cardiac surgery, oncology, organ transplantation, orthopedics, neurosurgery, reproductive surgery, ophthalmology, bariatric, and plastic surgery.

Neurosurgical Procedures

The Neurosurgery Department of Memorial Ataşehir is equipped with a 64-slice CT scanner, 3-Tesla MRI, and angiographic systems for detailed examination of cerebral vessels. More than 1,500 surgeries are performed here annually.

The clinic uses Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. This procedure involves implanting electrodes into specific brain structures to suppress abnormal nerve impulses.

Cancer Treatment

The Oncology Center at Memorial Ataşehir provides diagnosis and treatment for all types of malignant tumors. For early detection, advanced imaging techniques such as MRI, CT, and PET-CT are used.

Memorial offers advanced radiation therapy systems:

  • IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) – delivers high doses of radiation directly to the tumor while sparing healthy tissues.
  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery – a precise, non-invasive method for treating tumors near critical structures (e.g., in the brain) using targeted radiation beams from multiple angles.
  • 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy – shapes radiation beams to match the three-dimensional contour of the tumor and surrounding tissues for optimal dose distribution.

Oncologists at Memorial also employ advanced pharmacological treatments, including personalized chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy.

Orthopedics and Spine Surgery

The Orthopedic Department performs knee and hip joint replacements (total and partial), arthroscopic surgeries, limb deformity corrections, and ligament reconstruction.

Joint replacement procedures are performed using minimally invasive techniques and high-tech implants. Typical hospitalization lasts 1–2 days. Diagnostic tools include MRI, CT, and X-ray imaging.

The department also specializes in spine surgery, including discectomy (herniated disc removal), scoliosis correction, and other spinal deformities. Microsurgical and minimally invasive approaches are applied to reduce recovery time.

Plastic Surgery

Experienced plastic surgeons at Memorial Ataşehir perform a full range of aesthetic procedures, including rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation and lift, liposuction, facelift, blepharoplasty, and more. To accelerate tissue healing, the clinic uses advanced methods such as PRP therapy (platelet-rich plasma injections), stem cell therapy, and ozone therapy.

Bariatric Surgery

Memorial Ataşehir performs various bariatric procedures, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and other modern techniques for obesity treatment. The goal is to achieve significant and lasting weight loss, improving overall health and reducing the risk of related conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

The clinic uses minimally invasive laparoscopic technologies to shorten hospital stays and speed up recovery. A comprehensive support and rehabilitation program is provided, including consultations with dietitians and psychologists to ensure long-term success.

Organ Transplantation

The Transplant Center at Memorial Ataşehir performs liver and kidney transplants from related donors up to the fourth degree. The clinic practices cross-liver transplantation – when incompatible donor-recipient pairs exchange donors. It was the first center in Turkey to perform kidney transplants in newborns and children under 5 years old using micro-instruments.

Post-transplant survival rates for liver and kidney transplants at Memorial Ataşehir exceed global averages, reaching 90%. Across the Memorial network, more than 900 organ and tissue transplant surgeries are performed annually, including 380 kidney and 260 liver transplants. The hospital also offers seamless corneal transplantation (endothelial keratoplasty).

If you want to learn more about treatment options at Memorial Ataşehir, contact us by phone or fill out the form on our website. The Experts Medical coordinator will help you arrange an online consultation with a doctor and take care of all stages of your medical trip to Turkey. Our patient services are completely free of charge.

Diagnosis: oncology

The clinic provide good service.
– Equipment is new
– doctors are either anglophones or speak through provided translators
– analysis are made quickly.

One issue I would like to highlight is the communication, be that before or after treatment. It can get confusing due to being organized mainly through the translators, assigned after first treatment. Considering their business, they aren’t capable of responding timely.
Prices are global, in a sense that for good service, one should expect to pay appropriate price.

4.5/5, would recommend

Diagnosis: gastroenterology

I am giving 3 stars because service is very fast , translator was very efficient, done his job very well , the gastroenterologist was fine as well. Not giving 5 stars only for the prices. Extremely expensive. 200 euro a consultation ( i can understand is a private hospital for this consultation) but a colonoscopy 2500 euro? And an MRI superior abdomen 1800 euro? Extremely expensive. Double checked the prices in London private hospital and are more cheaper than this , not to talk about other countries in Europe ( checked Italy as well colonoscopy / mri range from 400-800 euro) where privately this will cost 1/4 of the price. People need to be aware that this hospital in Turkey is not cheap at all . Service is great though and very fast.

Diagnosis: consultations with a pediatrician and mammologist

We visited three times this hospital. Everything was fine. Doctors are professional, they gave reasonable advices on treatment. As foreign patients we had a good experience with the translator at this hospital during the recent appointments with a pediatrician for our baby and a mammalog. Her name is Shapagat. She translated all my questions to doctors and able to explain all medical terms and doctors’ answers in a way that was easy for us to understand. Her informative and understandable communication skills, combined with her professionalism and positive attitude, made our doctor’s visits much more comfortable and stress-free.

Shapagat was easy to communicate with through WhatsApp, making scheduling appointments and asking questions incredibly convenient. She provided excellent support throughout the entire process, and her polite and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and at ease.

We are grateful for her hard work and dedication and will certainly request her services again in the future

Diagnosis: coronary artery disease

On February 7, I went to Professor MD Soylu for an examination of my heart condition. He was with me during all the tests, his explanations and suggestions were exceedingly good. In addition, the staff who helped me during my effort and echo tests in the cardiology outpatient clinic were very polite and helpful. Strongly recommended.
