About clinic

Reuth Rehabilitation Center is a private medical complex in Israel. It is founded in 1937 and is located in the center of Tel Aviv. It collaborates with Tel Aviv University. The center has the prestigious JCI accreditation.

The clinic has a capacity of 350 beds. Every year, 1,500 foreign patients undergo rehabilitation in Reuth. The specialists of the center carry out the rehabilitation of patients from the age of 3 years.

Key Areas in Reuth

The rehabilitation center offers effective medical care in 6 key areas:

  • respiratory;
  • neurological;
  • orthopedic;
  • postoperative, including interventions for oncology;
  • geriatric;
  •

The clinic features the largest ALV department in Israel, designed for 50 people. In addition, Reuth is the only medical institution in Israel that has a department for treating patients who have to be constantly in the ALV department. For example, with chronic lung diseases, progressive muscle diseases, with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Features of Reuth Rehabilitation Center

The clinic accepts patients of all ages. After rehabilitation, up to 50% of patients achieve partial or complete removal from respiration. The medical staff consists of narrow specialists such as rehabilitation specialists, neurologists, physiotherapists, pediatricians, speech therapists, psychiatrists, geriatrics, and alternative medicine specialists.

The work of doctors is built on 3 key principles:

  • personalized approach. It does not involve the treatment of the disease but comprehensive medical care;
  • high level of medical services. It includes the development and implementation of the most effective methods, staff development;
  • affordable cost for the patient.

The rehabilitation center is run by Dr. Dov Albokrek, he is Israel's leading pediatrician.

Rehabilitation Programs

Specialists of the medical center use innovative techniques to restore movement, speech, and intellectual abilities.

A team of specialists has developed programs for the following groups of patients:

  • in a coma, the most difficult group, where artificial ventilation of the lungs is necessary;
  • with complications after strokes;
  • with impaired respiratory function;
  • with head and spinal injuries;
  • with cerebral palsy, encephalitis, and meningitis;
  • with the consequences of combat wounds, traffic accidents, domestic injuries, and accidents;
  • after heavy operations, including oncological ones;
  • after severe and complex fractures, and limb amputations.

The center pays great attention to children's rehabilitation. Experienced pediatricians work with young patients. The main part of the rehabilitation program in the children's department takes place in the form of a game. It includes different methods, for example, art therapy, physiotherapy, animal therapy, occupational therapy, and speech program.

Rehabilitation Technologies at Reuth Clinic

To restore lost motor functions, doctors use robotic simulators and computer systems of the latest generation:

  1. Vector Gait: “rail robot” system. It provides support to patients with musculoskeletal disorders by means of a cable, which is attached on one side to the patient's suit, and on the other side to the rails on the ceiling.

2. Anti-Gravity. This is a treadmill that provides for a reduction in patient weight and gravitational force. This allows to start classes with less stress on the joints, gradually increasing it.

  1. AposTherapy. This is a unique development of Reuth rehabilitation specialists. These are shoes that reduce stress on the joints. It is used for articular deformities as an alternative to prosthetics.
  2. Re-STEP. This walking system simulates inclination and load. It helps stimulate the parts of the brain that are responsible for speech and motor skills. It is applied after a stroke, brain injury, with cerebral palsy.
  3. Treadmill. This is an apparatus for restoring walking skills.
  4. ArmTutor. This is an installation for restoring the motor functions of the upper limbs.

The specialists of the center have developed programs for both quick (within 2 weeks) and long-term rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation of Foreign Patients

The work of Reuth Medical Center is structured in such a way that patients do not feel any restrictions. Especially for serving people from East Asian countries, a department with Russian-speaking staff has been created. This makes it possible to undergo a rehabilitation course without restrictions. Also, special programs have been developed for foreigners as short as possible.

The center offers two forms of rehabilitation:

  • stationary – with accommodation in single rooms;
  • outpatient – the patient and accompanying person are accommodated in a hotel on the territory of the medical center.

Most of the patients undergo rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. The hospital encourages living outside of it. This makes it possible to devote time to tourism and lead an active social life.

Occupational therapy treatments and daily physiotherapy treatments are available. In addition, additional treatments such as art therapy, music therapy, canis therapy and, of course, the gym, which is open until three in the afternoon.
The team consists of doctors, nurses, and support staff. All are very accommodating.
The building itself is old but well-maintained.
In each ward, there are 2 people in hospital beds, each patient has a TV, a two-door wardrobe, and a comfortable plastic chest of drawers.
There is also a library with chairs.
The adjoining toilet and shower are huge to allow wheelchair access so that each toilet and shower can be used by four people at the same time. It can be annoying if people in another room are rude or forget to open the door after they’ve finished.
For those with permission from therapists, a day off on Friday and Saturday is possible by agreement.

I got there after a long period of severe dysfunction due to chronic pain in my limbs. Thanks to a professional team including a psychologist and a wonderful occupational therapist, I was able to get back to work. I can’t say that everything was perfect there, but I achieved the goal for which I came to rehabilitation.
