Dr. Yoram Shohat is a leading ophthalmologist in Israel, an expert in the treatment of cataracts, hyperopia and myopia.

Education and training: Dr. Yoram Shohat is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he studied in 1970-1976. Since 1978, he began to specialize in ophthalmology in Tel Hashomer at the Sheba clinic (until 1983).

Research work: Dr. Yoram Shohat takes part in the improvement of existing and the development of new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of vision pathologies. Scientific activity:

• For 3 years (2003-2006) – Itay Chowers was engaged in research activities in the field of molecular ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Medical School (USA).
• He currently leads research in the laboratory of the Israeli hospital Hadassah in the direction of identifying the genetic and biological processes in the body that contribute to the development of macular degeneration.
• He has published over 170 scientific articles on the topic of neovascular, macular, age-related degenerative processes, hereditary and other factors of visual impairment, the impact of modern therapeutic methods and medications on the course of eye diseases.
• Since 2013, he has been the head of the Israeli Association of Retinal Specialists.

Professor Eitan Blumenthal is the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Rambam Medical Center.

He is a recognized specialist in the field of surgical interventions for complex cases of glaucoma and cataracts.

He is the author of numerous scientific publications in specialized medical journals, a participant in clinical research in the field of ophthalmology, and a lecturer at the Technion Faculty of Medicine.

He developed and implemented unique methods for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of glaucoma, which are used today by ophthalmologists around the world.
