Horev Medical Center is a large public multidisciplinary clinic in Haifa, which has been operating since 1977. Innovative Methods of Treatment of Diseases of the Nervous System in Horev
For chronic pain syndromes that are not amenable to conventional treatment, doctors implant electrodes into the nervous tissue of a certain segment of the spinal cord. In the oncology center of the clinic, TIL (tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte) cellular immunotherapy is used for many types of cancer. With this type of immunotherapy, the patient's T lymphocytes to infiltrate the tumor and destroy the cancer cells are used.
TIL is collected from the tumor at the time of biopsy or surgical resection. Within a few weeks, several billion of these cells are grown in the laboratory using the interleukin-2 (IL-2) protein. After a short course of chemotherapy, TIL is administered by intravenous infusion into the patient's body. With a good response to this immunotherapy, the administration of TIL is repeated.
